ColaPepsi Posted June 8 #1 Share Posted June 8 Hi, is there anyone that has been on NCL Sun recently whilst cruising Alaska, I was wondering what the temperature was like inside the ship in the evenings, ie, whilst dining or in the bars. Also, any hints & tips would be great as we have never cruised in Alaska. Thank you x
Rare www3traveler Posted June 8 #2 Share Posted June 8 The theater and some of the dining rooms can be chilly in the evenings. Alaska is a wonderful cruise. Glacier Bay is amazing. The Sun has lots of outdoor spaces and you may need a sweater of jacket depending on the time of the year of your sailing. Early and late season, bring layers. Mid to late Summer you may need shorts and T-shirts. Enjoy

dexddd Posted June 8 #5 Share Posted June 8 People have very different opinions of what is chilly. We have people at work running heaters in summer and others too hot. As far as Sun, there is a large front lounge, the great outdoors behind buffet, buffet is tiny, place to eat b and l port side of buffet. LA Cucina, while not free is nice to eat at. DorothyB Posted June 8 #6 Share Posted June 8 Every cruise I have been on - including Alaska on the Sun many years ago and carribbean cruises - I have always been glad to have a light sweater in the dining rooms, etc.

Thank you x The temperature inside the ship is pretty constant regardless of whether you are sailing in the Caribbean or Alaska. The air conditioner is always running (maybe not as strongly in Alaska). Yes, air conditioner. Humans, lights, equipment generate a lot of heat. We sail to Alaska every year. During the summer, it is shorts and t-shirt weather in port. Yes, there will be a chill in the air first thing in the morning. Every year we see people bundled up in ski jackets in the morning (because it is Alaska) and literally dragging those jackets on the ground when they return to the ship with temps in the 70s with hot sunshine. Have some winter ware (hat, glove, jacket) for glacier day. Rain ware (since you are sailing in a rain forest with lots of rain). And some clothes you can layer for temps in between.
