that would make sense - but I

am on sky in October and don’t see the same !
I see Soleil with multiple slots !!

Hi, We are on Sky September 2025 and April 2026. I’m Platinum so can book dining now. On the app all I could see was Soleil with multiple slots. I checked next day and it was only showing 17.30 and 19.50 although on my web version it still showed many time slots for Soleil. I have never seen anything for the other dining rooms.

I have just rang Princess and she has told me that Soleil is the traditional early/late sittings and she has booked it for me and it now shows my reservations on my app.

I asked why Soleil still showed many booking times for Soleil and she said the web has not been updated yet.

Thanks Sarah - nice one. Some clarity !

Did she say which was the walk up one ?

I still can't do this.  Which dining room is for same table every night, please.  Thanks for posting this encouragement.

Michelangelo will get you the same table every night. But the only dining times are 5:00 and 7:20

Not knowing isn't great. Is it worth waiting to see if the "bug" is fixed. Or do we suck it up and go with what is available, assuming it is a "feature" and options will only get worse as they book up.

I wanted table for two at 5:00 in TD, so I sucked it up and persisted through all the errors until I got that. If I hadn't been pretty sure that what I wanted would sell out, I wouldn't have been that persistent. I would say that if you're really sure of what you want, then you probably might want to go the persistent route until you're successful.

I have tried the web app for Ruby but the main dining is greyed out, specialist dining is open and I can book that but not the main dining.
Are they opening it up slowly, ship by ship? Anyone else managed to book on Ruby?

I was able to book for the Ruby in February of next year. Took a while, and I did get to see lots of spiffy errors.

I just called Princess and the rep took my request for 5 pm fixed seating and said it would be in Bottacelli; however, he could not do it and referred the request to the IT people who will fix it in 3-5 business days.  My fingers are crossed.

I took just got off the phone with Princess, trying to get Traditional dining on the Coral.  Was told private tables are NOT available every night and that I would have to go with shared, different table and waiter.  Their definition of "traditional' is not what it has been for decades.  Still a cluster....

I am compiling a list on another thread. For the Coral princess you said you were able to get traditional dining -was that in Provence DR? I show that if you try to reserve 5 PM you can get a shared table, but if you want 730pm it’s private table and I don’t know, if 5 PM you can get a shared and private table, etc.

sounds like whatever timeslot you wanted ,you wanted a private table and it was not available every night ,but some nights it was , is that correct?

I’m just trying to see what people are posting. Thanks.

What ship are you trying to book 5 PM traditional seating? Or are you just trying to book 5 PM in one of the reservable dining rooms?

I show for the “grand “/ Gem type ships. Michelangelo is the traditional at 5 PM and 7:30 PM and the reservable is in Botticelli with Reservations every 20 minutes.

at least that’s what passengers have been able to do that have posted.

I have a different thread that lists ships and dining rooms on one list and it’s just been compiled by posts just like this one.

thanks.

Can you post a link to this thread?

yes I agree - I understood one restaurant would be walk up and so no reservable.

One is reservable for multiple times.

One is reservable for 2 x fixed times.

Estrella is not shown as bookable.

Both Cielo and Soleil are bookable for multiple slots.

?Just been on the App yet again. It appears that Cielo and Soleil both as you say have bookable times twenty minutes apart. The frustration is that we want to be reasonably sociable and book a share table for around 8 p.m. but guess what, only private tables available after around 7.30 p.m. Whether this is right or not I do not have a clue. I don't wish to be forced into a dining time early than we wish or to be staring at the wife every night or her me. Not that I don't love her very much. But it's just a nice change to interact with others occasionally.

I was able to book 5pm Traditional Shared table on the 11/2 Discovery cruise. However my problem/question is how do I link my reservation to the other 7 people who I will be traveling with? Before this new reservation system I was able to list everyone’s booking number and have us all signed up for the same dining reservation. I don’t see where I can do that in the app this time. Am I missing something?

I wish I knew how to share.(I see the share button, but it’s for other things other than cruise critic) Perhaps someone else could help out?

It's under New Dining Reservations-ship to….. thread.

I copy the url from the browser bar and paste it into the thread I want to copy it to.

My 2 cents worth is that it might be related to the ship. The one time we were on the Coral, we found the dining situation really annoying. This is when there was any time or traditional dining. We tried to get a private table (any time) for our party of 4 each night. It was rare that we were able to do that. The 'people in charge' at the dining room door were insistent that we must share a table. I don't know if they have less dining space on the Coral, or what the deal is. We had no problems on any other ships at the time.

Good luck.

Absurd ! Might as well just have 2 restaurants bookable and one walk up

  • Princess stated they are not releasing all the tables immediately.   Holding some - got the idea 30-40% - back to sort things later.  With millions of reservations things actually pretty good.  On Regal was told to wait for same table and waiters.
  • Coral has a very different dining room setup.

The Coral has only two dining rooms, so the system will be different for that smaller ship.  Last I heard, one was both reservations and walk up and the other was traditional.  I have no doubt things will change a bunch of times before this whole thing settles down.
