I'm a bit worried as our flights that get in the day before are with WestJet. I can't find any info if the US side of west jet would be impacted?

Looks like West jet mechanics are going on strike and the airlines has begun cancelling flights.

Yep, just went on Westjet to check out flights.  For now, they are going back to the bargaining table and the mechanics union has rescinded the strike.

Makes me wonder if some of their planes and crews might be out of position after the cancelations yesterday.
