Hope the cat G guarantee works for you. We usually book a cat G between 641 and 655. I got an email from Regent today noting that your cruise has a program called Spotlight on Ancestry. For information about the program go to the cruise website and select “Ship Details.“ Then select “Enrichment Series“ for details.

Dave

Thanks very much for the info.   I will certainly do that.

Does anyone know when Voyager last had a rehab/dry dock?

I believe the last major dry dock for Voyager was in November 2016. The next major dry dock is scheduled for the spring of 2026. From what I experienced during my cruises on Voyager since 2016, the ship is being well-maintained.

I just checked the cruise and both categories G and H are guarantee only. So you may get a really good suite or you may get a terrible suite. The cruise is one of the Regent cruises with a number of overnights in ports. What I don’t like about the cruise is that the final overnight is in Barcelona the night before you disembark. However the Voyager does not get into Barcelona until 8 PM so, in effect, you would not have any time in Barcelona unless you stay after you disembark.

we are on this sailing and I suspect the timing hasn’t been updated after some itinerary changes were made mónths ago. When the excursions came out there was a few for that evening, starting in the late afternoon.  First only one appeared, and now móre.  So someone is planning for some time in Barcelona on the last day.

We have booked Cat G guarantee

Good timing on your booking, as the Regent price increased by about 45% yesterday for this October Voyager cruise.

@scottie99, So glad you started this thread as. together with @DaveFr's tip about the 'Spotlight on Ancestry', it encouraged us to take a look at the cruise. We couldn't resist and booked the last Hgty available at the 'knockdown' price.

We will have to compare notes as to what suites we are eventually allocated, and we will raise a glass to toast your anniversary on 1st November 🥂

Gosh, I hadn’t been aware of the price increase.   The price on the the RSSC website is almost double what we are paying!

It will certainly be interesting to compare suite allocation.

👍 My previous calculation was incorrect; the Regent web price has increased by 64%, so yes after TA discount the price we paid last week is a bargain; the lowest per day fare we have paid for a Regent cruise for many, many years.

Hope they don't put us on water & ships' biscuits to compensate 😲

Just off of our first time on Voyager (another coming up later this year). Yes it's showing a bit of dated decor but not bad. The theatre is one of the best we've experienced on ultra luxury market ships with great height on stage, great unrestricted views throughout - especially on the deck 5 circle, and great sound and lighting production (Stage engineer Ryan has it very well done!).

But the downside is the Internet WiFi coverage. Voyager has Starlink installed so good data speeds (2.5mbs) where you get WiFi coverage, but this is mostly just public spaces. Our cat D Conceige cabin only managed 1.2mbs speed when sat behind the suite door with phone on the floor getting the signal from the corridor under the steel door! Mostly un-connectable within the cabin and not at all on balcony.  So depending on your reliance on wifi connectivity, your view of the ship might vary!

I just noticed this thread. The last and only time we have cruised on Voyager was 20 years when she was very new. We found it to be much like the Mariner, without the step - up bathtubs and under-sized lower level suites. So if you have an H GTY and get an H, all will be well. We had an H GTY but got bumped up to a D Horizon Suite overlooking the aft on deck 7. Sound good? It would have been except for one thing. That suite shook when the ship approached 20 knots. Not vibration but shaking. The only part of the ship with this problem was the stern area behind the laundry room location. Now that was 20 years ago. That problem probably has (I hope) been corrected. Other than that, we really liked the Voyager. We have recently been on the Explorer and Splendor. They are great too, but they just feel a bit too big for our tastes. I know the statistics on Regent ships indicate that they are about the same size as the Voyager. They just feel bigger.

Agreed.  We have been on Mariner, Navigator, Grandeur, and Explorer.  Loved them all for many reasons.  But I agree... I think Navigator and Mariner are just more "intimate."  Sort of a "homey" feel almost.  Just "comfortable."  We go on Voyager in March and really looking forward to it.

I am sure you will have a fabulous time on Voyager.

IMO the layout of the public areas on Mariner is better than Voyager, but at least both have the Horizon Lounge.

Yes, to see if I was becoming senile (a possibility at my age) I looked up the stats for Voyager and Splendor. I found that the Splendor IS significantly larger than Voyager. Gross tonnage (a measure of interior space) is 42K for Voyager and 56K for the Splendor. The Splendor’s guest capacity is about 50 more than Voyager. It would be more than that, except for suites on Splendor that are the size of a large house. And the Voyager is somewhat smaller than the Mariner too, even though suite categories H through concierge are larger on the Voyager..
