Also charging for the second entree I don’t understand fancy dress with ankle high sneakers. I was wondering if they ever enforced dress code. I was worried that wearing polos and cargo shorts wouldn't pass, so I packed dress shorts each night. We were on the 3 night so no elegant night (though I did pack some nice pants since MSC is not so great on telling you what theme nights you will get), but there were people in the MDR each night in t-shirts and jorts. A filet is considered healthy. After my open heart surgery my cardiologist told me that lean cuts of beef, such as a filet, in moderation was okay. It broke my heart to give up porterhouse and ribeye's. So, if I were in your shoes - a filet would be on my plate. 1
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 26 Author #53 Share Posted June 26 I had the eggplant Parmesan appetizer and the chicken scallopini and they were excellent, although the piece of chicken was too big. I also had the baked Alaska which, for a change was not half melted I went to the show, Encore, which I have seen before. Then I went to the captain’s welcome. They were circulating with drinks but I passed. Now it’s back to the cabin.
umpisoccer Posted June 26 #54 Share Posted June 26 Beautiful sunny morning on the YC pool deck. We we lucky enough to be here early for an amazing breakfast at the pool side buffet (Fresh OJ and made to order eggs bennidict) and to get a cabana for shade and a great view. The ship is packed but it is so nice to be able to enjoy the quiet Yacht club pool, sun deck, bars and restaurant. It feels like we are on a small private ship. It also gives us the option to leave the area to see a show in the theater, listen to music around the ship or just walk around. The weather has also been amazing 🙂

We could smell it directly above the casino on deck 8 near the Brooklyn Cafe too. When I was on the Seashore in April, the area directly behind the Brooklyn Cafe (outside) was a smoking section, perhaps why you smelled smoke around that area.

Yes, that was a smoking area in December and still is…but there are double heavy doors to get out so I don’t smell any smoke from there. In fact, I am in Brooklyn Cafe now. I forgot about the diamond reception until I walked by so I came in. Just finished breakfast in Marketplace. Families continue to amaze me. I had seated myself at a table by the fence. A few tables down by the window was a large family group with multiple young children. Grandma had her back to the group and was watching two little girls sitting on the low ledge by the window, and a littler boy was in front of them. I heard a clink/crash…the little boy had dropped and spilled a fruit cup in metal cup, available at the kids buffet. Grandma picked up the fruit and got a napkin to wipe at the juice. Going to be sticky there. I pointed the area out to a waiter who was clearing tables. The kids moved within the group, but the boy eventually came back to the table, dumped out all of the sweetener packets, grouped them together, then laid them all out in columns. I don’t think any of the adults knew where he was, or just saw the back of his head so saw he was quiet and occupied. When they all finally got up to leave one of the men assessed the activity, and they replaced all the packets in the container. I didn’t know who in the group was mom until she held his hand as they left. The waiter came by and picked up the dirty napkin from under the table, but the sticky patch is untouched. Breakfast was two fried eggs and bacon, and a wheat roll. I think they buy the smallest eggs available. Daily activity sheets. There is brunch in the Central Park mdr but I saw the menu and thought not for me. Now I can’t find the menu. 1

Sargassum On our April cruise we were told that a couple younger kids got into trouble for stealing scooters and racing them around and leaving them far away from their original spot. True or not? Who knows.
ebeluga Posted June 26 #64 Share Posted June 26 I'm getting the impression that with such big ship sizes and great number of pax, this kind of mess (with no crew enforcing rules) does not make a very pleasant environment.

"Mobility scooters are subject to size and weight limits and may not be parked in vessel hallways. Passengers planning to bring a mobility scooter must contact the Company to ensure their mobility scooter will fit through the doorway of their cabin. Doorways can be as narrow as 26 inches, depending on the ship. If a Passenger’s scooter is larger than this, the Company recommends the Passenger book a handicap (H) stateroom or rent a smaller scooter." P.S. We have the same inconsiderate behavior and lack of enforcement in the Yacht Club as well. Edited June 26 by morpheusofthesea 4
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 27 Author #66 Share Posted June 27 (edited) Scooters can’t be stolen if the key isn’t left in it. That said, it’s possible all scooters use the same key so a kid would only need one key…and why a person might come out of the mdr and take the wrong scooter. Tonight I had the red snapper. I solved the mystery of all the lighthouse pics on my deck. The deck is Rotes Kliff, and Rotes Kliff is a park on an island off the north German coast Edited June 27 by Essiesmom
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 27 Author #67 Share Posted June 27 I couldn’t get a reservation to tonight’s show , Road to Nowhere. Both seatings sold out early. But I stood by the door and five minutes before they let in the rest of us. There were people sitting on the steps. It was a lot of confusion to me. Someone who is bored and wants to go somewhere, is transported to a place with a lot of nursery rhyme and kids story characters. I recognized the Three Blind Mice, Pinocchio, the tin man, scarecrow. May have been some from Alice in Wonderland. But a lot I couldn’t place. Plus the acrobats and aerialist s. Glad I went, don’t need to go again. Rare Essiesmom Posted June 27 Author #68 Share Posted June 27 I spent some time near the Shine Bar off the atrium, listening to the music. On the way back to the cabin I passed through Effy, and paused by the elevator to reserve a spot at tomorrow nights show, which I have seen before- Total Divas. But I’m sure there will be different people in the cast since December. Some more deck 13 views:

My daughter and SIL have exactly the same brand/type and it collapses down very easily, and we were able to just slide it under their beds on the Seashore cruise we did together back in February.
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 27 Author #71 Share Posted June 27 Good morning from Costa Maya. So far we have Enchantment of the Seas mooning us, and Harmony of the Seas coming to sniff us out. The little mall is gonna be crowded! But I don’t plan to spend much time ashore. The only time I have felt motion on this ship/cruise was this morning when we were docking. We set the clocks back an hour last night. Of course, I manually set my little clock, but the only device that automatically reset is this iPad mini. iPhone, and therefore I watch did not.

Rare morpheusofthesea Posted June 27 #73 Share Posted June 27 (edited) This is the same destruction of the key pads we found on the Seascape. We were witness while being escorted by our butler waiting for our elevator when a drunk came up to the key pad and instead of pressing a number slammed his fist on top of the entire pad. Our eyes went immediately to our butler who witnessed the act. He looked at us and shrugged his shoulders. I suppose they are not allowed to confront a guest ? P.S. we were on deck 16 of the YC. Your photo appears to be the same deck. Our drunk came out from the Jungle Pool/ Market Place Buffet. Other crew members are instructed to report it to them.
