crusingisforme17 Posted June 26 #1 Share Posted June 26 We booked through a travel agent with a Prime Veranda guarantee on Celebrity Infinity. Our room was just assigned. Cabin 9161 is directly under the buffet area. Has anyone stayed in a room directly below the buffet area on this ship? Our last experience with a cabin in this area was not good. Carts of plates/supplies were moving around very early in the morning (3-5 am). I like the idea of close to coffee and don't want to request a change if noise isn't an issue. Thank you! Loracpin2 Posted June 26 #2 Share Posted June 26 Booking a Guarantee, even a Prime Veranda, means you are definitely taking a chance on the location of the cabin. Keep in mind, if you request a change and nothing else is available in a better location, (even with a TA) this might very well be your only option!! jelayne Posted June 26 #3 Share Posted June 26 Did you look to see if there is a Deluxe Veranda available in a better location. If so call your TA and ask if they can move you to that cabin.
crusingisforme17 Posted June 27 Author #4 Share Posted June 27 The cruise is sold out of veranda rooms. We have 25+ cruises and this is the first time we booked a guaranteed room. We'll bring ear plugs! LOL
STIG OF THE DUMP Posted June 30 #5 Share Posted June 30 I was in 9065 in January and we had no noise at all. The cabin seemed well insulated. Hope you have a lovely Cruise.
TimoL Posted July 2 #6 Share Posted July 2 We were onboard the Infinity this spring and had booked stateroom 9097 in Aqua Class. I have enclosed some pictures of that room that was in a very bad condition. Dirty, stained carpet and sofa, dirty glasses, no decoration at all, Switches covered with stick residue….. the first answer to the complains was only…. sorry, we are sailing on full capacity. It took us 48 hours to find a solution, actually things only improved after directly reaching out to the Hotel director, as communication between involved staff at the customer service desk was almost non existent. It has been only due to the efforts of the Hotel Director, that we finally could enjoy the cruise and leave the ship forward looking to our next cruise in August. It is just a guess, but concerning the horrible condition of the stateroom 9097 we had the impression that this room was actually in the process of being renovated and should never have been offered to passengers, due to the sold out cabins it then was offered to us. crusingisforme17 Posted July 2 Author #7 Share Posted July 2 So sorry that you had such a bad experience in the spring. Hope your next cruise will be lovely!
Rare Essiesmom Posted July 2 #8 Share Posted July 2 Cabin 9161 is under a seating area, which is carpeted so noise is muffled. In addition, large carts generally do not roll over the seating areas. I would be concerned if I was in an inside cabin in this area. EM

After the issues had been dealt with by the Hotel Director we did enjoy our cruise, the next one on the Equinox is coming up in August, and The Millennium ist waiting for us next summer in Japan 🙂 Mistakes, even big mistakes can happen anywhere, it is the important issue how a situation is resolved, and here finally the Hotel director was able to sort everything out.
