Caution and Warning on booking your casino offer on Princess online

yesterday was a Sunday and my princess rep was not working.  I was checking cruises for the fall.  Our offers have been for a free interior plus casino free play - we had been getting free balcony, but I was okay with paying to upgrade.

I found a cruise during Thanksgiving we and did a mock booking not sure if I would do it, but the following was:

zero for interior or $210 for oceanview, but on the oceanview page it said obstructed balcony for $5.00 more pp, so I hit that and got a balcony for $245pp

next page said add princess plus for zero, I hit add the package

next page showed the summary:

cruise fare   $245.00

taxes/fees     155.60

deposit           200.00

this is for one but shows the same for both guest and total is $1201.20  and shows

Princess Plus   both names are listed and says applied

now you have to pay and I did and then got my summary and there is no princess plus on the travel summary

I called first thing this morning and got the casino department - he said you don't get the princess plus for free.

we went around and around and I ended up cancelling the cruise - no fees

I sent a letter of complaint to the customer service department

I had taken pictures with my phone of all the pages showing the zero cost and that the princess plus was part of the trip.up until you pay and then it disappears.

I will never book anything without having someone on the line and can verify that I am getting what is offered.

I would never book anything online but wait the one day to get my CVP on it. I trust people not systems. This is the same thing that happened to us a year ago on board with so called future cruise people

I have been emailing my CVP (the phones are not working at Princess) and she is trying to get the casino department to honor the price I was shown in the internet.

Not holding my breath

Day two:  I did get a full refund from the booking I did on Sunday, no cancellation fees.

My CVP is still waiting to hear from the casino department, but since this was happening to non casino bookings also,  I think that they will not honor any of the errors.

so will not be going, have only one cruised booked for next year and that will be that.

Sorry that happened to you Roxie.  I hope your cvp can get it rectified.

What I did on a weekend before is went thru the online process then

stopped before paying.  Got my cvp on the line next day to complete.

He said he could see the reservation as a hold.  I said yes its probably Me.

After some finagling he was able to book that cabin for us.

Other thing I do is put all the details (Cruise trip, dates, even Cabin#)

into an email and send to cvp.

He returns my call early next day and we book it quickly.

Hang in there.  Seems Sundays are always a bad day for trying to book anything.
