I wonder how the non English guests felt about the wall to wall to England atmosphere on board.  Unlike the upcoming Olympics, the England football team is not Team GB attracting more widespread support.  Scotland and Wales has not had the same enthusiasm for the Euros since their teams were eliminated and I know there are German, and no doubt other, guests on QA.

Well it's a (half) British cruise line sailing from England, and I guess the majority of guests are English/British. I have no interest in football but I think it's reasonable that for the above reasons and for one night they can justify the "wall to wall" England atmosphere.

I am very much enjoying the live reports and thank you to all who are contributing and Victoria2 for starting this new one. Wishing you all a fabulous cruise. If you get a moment Victoria2, I'm interested to know how the QG rooms compare to those on QV/QE?

Without pacing our cabin out to get an exact size, I would say the Q2s are smaller than the Vistas equivalents but as well as having up to the minute bathroom fittings (Grohe)in both  the bathroom and shower room  and Dyson hairdryer plus copious number of usb ports, they are vastly superior in layout. In fact, I think Cunard has made excellent use of space in their 2s.

I will be able to give you Q1 comparisons next year. 🙂

I sat out up on deck 11 for a while this afternoon and it was very sparsely occupied. It could have had something to do with the wind across the deck and the drop in temp when the clouds came but there is definitely no issue with space. 🙂

Other than laps around the deck and the archery signup, my day has been spent at the blackjack table!

Casino staff very friendly though, sad to find out one of the hosts will be going to P&O next contract.

Shower fittings are Axor and I have a complaint.

As a shortie, the top body jet could do with being able to be angled lower! 😅

Thank you, sounds good. It sounds as though you have warmed to Annie. Perhaps she will become your new favourite!

Dinner is Sir Samuel’s was as lovely as it was spontaneous.

We booked last minute as there was no availability for Britannia open dining for at least another hour, and given I had not eaten all day I needed food ASAP.

Service was great and food was enjoyable, better than I remember it being on the maiden.

(Also, caviar on the triple cooked chips was actually very nice)

No chance of that Daisy but we have warmed to her as an alternative to The Vistas.

Other than a certain room I may have mentioned, my main problem with QA is her length, just as with QM2. It is just such a long walk to everywhere, whereas the

Vistas are pleasingly compact. Otherwise there are lots of lovely things about her.

Agree that it was the quietest embarkation evening/sail away that we have ever experienced! Great turn out last night with majority adhering to formal dress code! Food and service have been excellent so far! Didn’t make it to the library until yesterday by which time choice limited and must say it is no competition for QM2 or QV. Had a walk around the promenade deck - it’s ok/functional! Not too impressed with the Queens Room but we like all the other venues - grills lounge yet to be experienced but feels more like a passing through space!

I agree which is why, once bitten twice aware, I hotfooted it up to deck 14 as soon as I could. For a larger ship ( too large in reality for us) the library stock could do with beefing up.

Everyone looked lovely last night, a sea of black and white.

Went to the 'matinée' of Pride and Predjudice …sort of.

It was clever and well acted but not my cup of tea. I won’t be recommending it especially to Jane Austin fans.

No, and none last May either.
It's enough to make me want to cancel all future bookings!  🤨

Did you try writing it on? They must have some inexpensive versions on board they could give you.

Decamped to Italy instead!

Ironically, not being ‘into' wines, I’m not too bothered about the Cloudy Bays of this world have the wine we had in- cabin last year, as my table wine so I’m getting my Marlborough fix. 👌

I agree, and we love our Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs, but we really loved the Pinot Grigio from Friuli (Collio Hills) in QG.  Chilled to perfection, it’s exquisite, and not at all expensive.

Thanks for posting this. So glad to hear of the improvements in Sir Samuel’s. We dined there on the second voyage. Service was the worst we received anywhere else onboard and the caviar and oysters were unavailable. Having seen your post I would be encouraged to give them another try.

This is the only form of entertainment on Queen Anne that I have disliked. I much preferred the other show they did, as well as the singers and dancers of course.

I’m once again hoping Imagination will be available this voyage. There was an app on the TV which showed the week’s events up front, but it’s gone currently.

Glorious day onboard the good ship Annie.

It's a port day - Invergorden- and the ship was quite deserted this morning. The clouds have dispersed and sitting out is a pleasure as the wind across deck 11 isn’t too bad either.

Perfect. It’s almost like having your own ruddy great big super duper yacht! 👍

My first impressions are very favourable.

Embarkation was no better or worse than P&O, we took an hour from arriving to getting on board in a long and winding queue.

The cabin is lovely, particularly impressed by the shower and the soft and comfy robes. The balcony is bigger than P&O Iona's (we're on deck 5).

I managed to hang all of my (many) clothes up but am in agreement that the hangers are a pain in the wotsit.

Food so far has been very good. We dined in Aranya last night - great service and the level of spice suited me fine, but I am a lightweight in that department.

Noir in the Bright Lights Society was very entertaining!

And finally we've been very lucky with the weather. Long may it continue 🌤️
