Bed direction in cabins

Some one posted how to tell which direction the head of the bed faces in cruise cabins.   Forward or Aft.  Looking for this information.

Join CruiseDeckPlans.com and look at enough cabins on your deck to determine your particular ship's pattern. Often the direction alternates every other cabin, for instance. Then count out the "repeats" from a known cabin to yours. You might even get lucky and find your very cabin having photos!

Here is my experience with HAL for instance as I like to face the way we are sailing instead of going backwards.

If you look at the deck plan you can see an entrance at the top or bottom of the cabin. If its at the top you are sailing facing forwards if its at the bottom you are sailing facing backwards.

4158 forwards

4162 backwards

There could be small deviations for this but this seems to be the general rule.

Happy planning

This can vary by cruise line and each may differ from the next in how from the deck plans, if at all, this can be determined.  In particular with balcony staterooms, there also often is a alternating pattern for whether the bed is next to the bathroom or the balcony.

You may need to ask this specifically regarding the cruise line(s) you are interested in for more relevant responses. You also might want to call the cruise line themselves or a travel agent and ask them as well.
