Decided at last minute to go ahead and start a live from and will give updates and try and answer any questions. This was the easiest and quickest boarding we have ever done. Drove to the port and dropped our bags with the porters at 10:20 AM. Made our way into the parking garage and then over to the terminal. Real quick pass through security and then straight over to check-in and next thing you know we are walking onboard at 10:45! They announced rooms would be ready around 12:30 so we just grabbed a drink and hung in the piazza area. We went up to our cabin on Baja deck a little before noon and not only was our cabin ready but we ran into our luggage just as we were almost to our cabin. Day one was off to a great start.

Rare mdgary Posted July 29 Author #10 Share Posted July 29 Here with a update on the cruise so far. Apologize in advance if this rambles but just wanted to do a quick catch up. The first 2 days of the cruise were uneventful but that was a good thing. Still trying to learn our way around the ship and trying to find our go-to servers in the lounges. Service has been fine but not the best so far. Some of the lounges seem to be understaffed and most times its just easier/quicker to just go to the bar and order. We have early nightly reservations in the Amalfi dining room. Dinners have been good and service has been quick. The buffet has been rather disappointing for the first few days with not the best selections. One positive about the buffet is they do have a very nice salad bar with lots of options. We have not sen any of the theater shows but they do have some very talented folks playing in the lounges. Excellent acoustic guitar and singer Ella Ryan and pianist/vocalist Anthony Michael. We are now on day 3 of the cruise and we awoke to bad news that due to high tides and swells we would be unable to visit our first port of Costa Maya. We actually had planned to stay onboard as none of the excursions appealed to us but I’m sure there were still alot of disappointed people. Thats all for now and will attach patters and menus hopefully.

Hi, I was on Enchanted in May and June and on both Embarkation days, they held MDR lunch with the ‘normal’ embarkation menu, shrimp/avocado, salmon, beef tenderloin, etc. not the ‘newish’ sea day lunch menu. I see the posted Patter from Day1, shows they had lunch in Amalfi from 12-1:30. Edited July 29 by wallyj 1

sprite Posted July 29 #14 Share Posted July 29 Thank you for posting the patters. We board Enchanted on Saturday and I'm curious about MUTS. I only see Olympic coverage during the day - do I really have no night-time movie under the stars to look forward to?

On previous cruises we loved the winemakers dinners. At $140 pp, Caymus dinner is out but we were interested in the Silverado winemaker’s dinner. Is it offered? They do have movies under the stars but for whatever reason they don’t list them on the “new” Patters. They are listed on the app though which makes no sense. The first night was Kong vs Godzilla….(something like that) and tonight it’s Argylle.
MsSoCalCruiser Posted July 29 #17 Share Posted July 29 I do see MUTS listed on the Patters but right now they are only showing the Olympics as far as I can tell. If you feel like it and have time, would you please do me a favor? Would you please check the OceanNow application and see if the option to leave off cheese has been added to the chef salad? Canuker Posted July 30 #23 Share Posted July 30 mdgary (OP): thank you for posting this. Very helpful: we board the day your cruise ends. 2 questions, please: 1. Your cruise sailed as "sold out". How busy wold you say the ship is? Any bottleneck areas? 2. What is the current status of the "Take 5 Lounge", please? Is it still usable as a lounge or has it become part of the casino? How's the casino smoke in there? Is it still called "Take 5"? Thanks, Canuker

Surprisingly it wasn’t too bad and was able to find a table without to much trouble. Will say that so far the buffet has been very disappointing for breakfast and lunch. The food is barely warm and choices are not great.
wallyj Posted July 30 #25 Share Posted July 30 @Canuker, I sailed on Enchanted in May and June for 14 nights doing B2B’s. All 4 seven day sailings were ‘sold out’ and the passenger counts were in the 4000 range. 100% double occupancy is 3660, so many 3 and 4 cabins were filled. Take5 still has lounge/seating area available by the bar. The whole area is non smoking, but smoke can enter when someone enters thru the door that connects to the casino. The slot machines take up about 50% of the space.
