Taxis in Los Angeles

We are cruising out of LA in January and it’s been awhile since I’ve flown into LA.  Anyone know if taxis are readily available to the port area?  We are staying at the Crown Plaza Harbor Hotel.

Yes taxis are available.  There is a line for taxi service.  We had the porter take our luggage from the luggage area and he put us in the correct line.

They exist but most folks use Uber or Lyft where, generally, the cars are of a much higher quality and younger age than the cabs in LA are.

thanks Princeton123211.  We’ve never used Uber except with friends.  Guess we will need to learn.

Could you clarify? Are you flying into LAX and need a taxi to the Crowne Plaza? If so, taxis are very difficult to obtain at the terminals at LAX, you will probably need to take a free shuttle to the LAX-It lot to get a taxi or an Uber. If you need a taxi from the Crowne Plaza on cruise morning then the CP has a shuttle service to the San Pedro terminals, or you could walk it as the distance is relatively short. A taxi would easily be available from the CP to the port, as would an Uber. If you are asking about getting FROM the port back to LAX after the cruise, then taxis and Ubers are both an option, with Uber preferable for the reasons stated above.

It would be a good time to do so. Cabs in LA aren't the greatest. Uber/Lyft (would recommend downloading both as one can have better pricing than the other at any given time) will be your best bet for getting around.

Same here.We do not own a cell phone! so cab it will be!
