Post cruise in Vancouver

Hoping Royal Loyalists can help with reasonable time estimate for making outgoing Vancouver flights on Radiance cruise originating in Seward.  Noon?  1, 2 PM?
 

Looks like many flights will require 12+ hours wait, and if so any suggestions on can’t miss thing to do in Vancouver for the day?

Saw this awhile back. 

Discover the beautiful city of Vancouver stress-free as you disembark from the cruise ship. Safely store your baggage in an All-Day Luggage Storage Service, conveniently located at the Canada Place Cruise Terminal. Simply drop off any large luggage and it will be taken care of for the day as you explore the city.

 Very easy walk from the cruise terminal to Gastown and the steam clock. About a 12 dollar cab ride to Grandvilel Island.

There are a few similar historical threads (about what to do post cruise while waiting for a late flight) in the West Coast Departures forum that can provide some ideas and info.  

 

Just a few points to get you rolling:

As alluded to above, there are a few different, reasonably priced luggage storage options in and around the port area so you aren't encumbered when sightseeing post cruise. 

 

I always want to cautioning about weather because some things are less fun in the rain.  

 

Granville Island just outside the downtown core is one of my favourite place around town.  There are shopping and restaurant streets like Robson and Denman that are interesting to stroll through.  The seawall is a fairly easy and pleasant walk.  Stanley Park is worth exploring but it's a large park so you need to plan/identify the areas you want to visit.  And yep, Gastown is close to Canada Place.  They've limited traffic in the area this summer to make it more pedestrian friendly. 

There are further out attractions like Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain if interested in spending most of your time there as they have pricey admission.

We had a similar conundrum, with only two non-stop flights from Vancouver to Washington, DC--one at 8:30 am (not possible) and one at 10:30 pm (not desirable). We decided to spend an extra night in Vancouver and explore the city for an additional day. Yes, it cost us extra for the hotel and a walking food tour of Gastown, but also meant we didn't need to fly a red-eye home.

 

Might not be for everyone, but it made the end of our trip more enjoyable.

Was the food tour worth it? If so who did you go with?

We are staying an extra night also.

We thought so. Really excellent tortellini and poutine. Very good other bites. We went with Taste Vancouver. Booked it through Viator, but you can book through them directly too.
