Rare Victoria2 Posted September 2 #354 Share Posted September 2 One thing I will add to the beauty of Alaska is, Norway, which is a tad nearer for us has some almost equally stunning scenery although the only bears are in the Cunard shop and the ice floes are missing in mid summer. The snowline was pretty low though in Northern Iceland this summer!

Rare mking8288 Posted September 2 Author #369 Share Posted September 2 (edited) Dinner for night 3 at the Britannia was very good, rival of NCL's specialty meals, it was that good. Menu is simple but the quality (subjective, of course --- YMMV) and the soup was served hot, nor lurk warm or almost room temperature. Appetizer & salad choices are limited but no issues with ordering 2, or an extra entree to share. Waiter notes our preference for soup that isn't considered high in sodium (salty) and would caution us while taking our orders. Entrees - both thumbs up Warm Bakewell Tart & Frozen Souffle - 👍 Edited September 2 by mking8288

Rare mking8288 Posted September 3 Author #371 Share Posted September 3 🤔😉🫣 DW (Susan) has a small "complaint" we aren't getting off until next Monday morning, with 6 more full days onboard and 4 more ports. This ... okay, it's informational only - I am cool with that, help us plan our busy last full day in Vancouver & Richmond ... older cousin living here in Burnaby / Metrotown is going to meet up with us and have dinner today, haven't seen each other in nearly 40 years
Rare mking8288 Posted September 3 Author #372 Share Posted September 3 Behind The Scene tour 😁 of laundry operations, "for our convenience" to sail & sustain ... a la NCL Except this is DIY, washing a load took about 30 minutes, drying time 20 to 25 minutes depending on the fabrics & preference. Free powdered laundry detergent provided - 2 scoop maximum for 6 kg max load. A virtual tour - Here's your study "😀 guide of how-to. Nearest one is 10 cabins down the hallway. 3
Rare Sugar Magnolia Posted September 3 #373 Share Posted September 3 Great pics today @mking8288! But there seems to be a lack of clotted cream with the scones. Are you even trying?

I am trying but also trying to avoid the traps akin to hot topics like hash browns on NCL. Cookies sightings are rare but abundance of chocolate, everywhere ... As for those tea biscuits & square chocolate mints, a sharply divided, first world matter for a few on this site. Clotted cream, apparently a precious item onboard and dished out in measured portion to manage resources & waste. Our driver-guide said a gallon of milk is $10USD here in Alaska, and the Oreos (cookies) ... ouch. Since I am on weight management, why abuse the gallery folks responsible for clotted cream. Happy w my smoked salmon & mackerel in the Lido.
