RCL drink packages

Recommended Posts

I booked Allure transatlantic yesterday and was offered 30% off drink packages if booked within two days.  Is this the best offer or should I wait to see if there is a better offer in the future.

Offers come and go at various times... Look at the bottom line price not the percent off.  They move around the starting price so percentages are just marketing.  Lately the best prices I have seen, depending on the ship is 69.99 and typical is low to mid 70's. If you buy and then see a better price later you can cancel and rebook for the lower price.  The refund back to your credit card usually take 3-5 days.

What was the price per day? With RCI the key is to focus on the price per day, not the sale percentage. I have seen the deluxe drink package cost less when it was 20% off than when it was 30% off because RCI is constantly changing the “full” price for the package.

The drink package is a must on the T/A's...

I would say just the opposite, depending on your status. As a D+ I get 5 drinks daily plus free drinks at the casino bar since I am Prime. With the casino bar open the majority of the cruise, I have no need to buy the deluxe drink package.

Thanks for the info -- the current price is $56/day.  With my category I get 4 drinks a day which is fine for me but I was wondering about my daughter.  In the past I remember if one person got the drink package the other person in the cabin is required to get it.  Would this be true in my case?

$56 a day is great!  I haven't see a drink package that low since they started sailing again during covid.  The cheapest my past few cruises have been was $74.99 a day.  I would 100% book it at that price.

The longer cruises tend to have lower prices, because the total price ends up being so high (when multiplying over 12-14 days). Asian cruises are also typically priced very low, because that market doesn't drink much alcohol. My 12 day Asian cruise last august had the alcohol package at $43/day. I still didn't buy it though because over a 12 day period, that's still a lot of money and I don't drink that much.

The transatlantic cruise I have booked for next year has had the alcohol package listed as low as $57/day, but again, over a 13 day period, that's a lot of money, especially once you add the 18%, and when you have to buy for 2 people.

Just bought at 79.99 per day and yes my spouse ,who does not drink, did have to buy the Refreshment package . It’s the best price I have seen for both but I’ll be watching and if it drops (Black Friday?) I will cancel and re-purchase

Soooo going on my first RC cruise and I see folks saying one person can get the drinks package but the other has to get some refreshment package?  Is that for anyone or just certain status?  Can you do that online or have to call to do that type thing?

Anyone can do it, but you have to call and do it over the phone because they don't give you the option online.

Thank you very much... That may help a lot!!   Now I am assuming it needs to be the refreshment and not just the soda package?  So they can get as much out of you as possible, while still giving an option.
