This morning is beautiful. Our pergola set up at 6 am (I was told). Light breeze  & over cast. Don't know if it is time of year or route, but able to really enjoy the pergola today on the One Pool Deck. Lunch today is another favorite,Udon Noodles and carrot cake for dessert. it is 9:40 am and all the pergolas are taken.

How does one who is not in a suite with a dedicated pergola get one?  Reserve daily? for the week? Is there a charge?  I seem to remember that the pergolas on seaside were FCFS except for the reserved ones and there was no charge but on Meraviglia, there was only one available to reserve and there was a fee.

This morning in the daily program it is being announced and reminded that being a seaday and for late risers in every category of cabin type that the Greenwave Restaurant is open from 8 am to 1:30pm for Brunch. This is vital information when the ship is full as the number of late risers exceeds the capacity to handle the crowd that lines up waiting for a table. This is where a YC butler escort is welcome to the Greenwave to the front of this very line.

FCFS.

Now this was NEW to us. We enjoy during our ship walkabouts to venture into the Market Place Buffet to see if we are missing anything we cannot get that we want in the Yacht Club. In the very back of the ship of the MPB is the GLUTEN FREE section. All the pastries are cellophane wrapped and the entrees are SERVED. NO SELF-SERVICE. Not only do gluten free guests eat gluten free, they eat less contaminated food.

To your knowledge, does the menu still include the lobster Benedict and/or the Venchi chocolate cake? Both were upcharge items on the initial brunch menu.

On a related note, do YC guests receive complimentary upcharge items, or are they dinged like everyone else? Thank you very much, M.Joe.

I did see the lobster benedict..I didn't see an upcharge, but may have been aloof. Neither of us ordered it - I got the Shakshuka (very tasty) and DW got a normal benedict (complete fail) - not sure about the cake, because we weren't allowed to order outside of whatever 7-server system they were employing.  The issue wasn't necessarily the food (YMMV) but the service was the worst I've ever experienced anywhere, including McDonald's.

We've never cruised below Aurea....but we have a 50th anniversary cruise for my in-laws coming up where we're paying for a big group and were thinking to go steerage to save some cheddar...but after that brunch experience I am pushing DW very hard for at least Aurea....where at least the dining is a little more purposeful.

Met with the nicest Cruise Critic poster ever @Best Cat Mom and can tell all they are both the nicest people on the planet as well. As @no1talks decreed, the sturdiness of BCD's artistic adeptness woven with his engineering skills far out classes anything else we have ever been gifted. I made haste with it back to the cabin as our Captain Tuvo got on the public address system and intimated there was a Rolex pilferer on board and did not wish to entice another public address announcement from the Captain pertaining to this work of art that was now ours.

4764 passengers this cruise, best news only 180 in Yacht Club. Which means no YC giveaways, move ups, cheapening the YC with steerage.

The last time I checked, there were still cabins available on both our 9/21 and 9/28 sailings.

Could you please let us know if the seafood extravaganza is back.  I saw where Chef Lisa who was on the seaside was doing it one day during the cruise, however the ship was in Europe so not sure if that makes a difference.  We are doing a B2B on Seaside in January.  Thanks and have a great cruise.  Love your comments

That is a very good question to ask Chef Lisa.

That's new.  I would be interested in hearing the explanation behind this.  I realize that an unobstructed view of the area of the sky where the satellites are located is necessary but we had multiple antenna's on the ships I was on to prevent all of them from being blocked at any given time, even when going under bridges.

So the brunch is not free?  I remember reading of your horrible experience with it on your cruise but did not realize you had to pay for it as well.

No that's not what I meant...I think there were some upcharge items...I don't remember what they were, but it was just a turn of phrase
