Just arrived at the Radison hotel in Port Canaveral. The man who drives the golf cart back and forth to the cruise parking area just told us Uber is not allowed to drop people off at the luggage area. When we sailed in May they did. Does any know if this is actually true? He was pushing using the shuttle pretty hard.

Sounds like he is drumming up income for the hotel.

Check with Uber. Or, put in the dock address and see how much they quote you for transport.  I agree it seems bogus...

Many cars entering the drop off area.  How would they know they were Uber??  My thinking is they wouldn’t know or care….

We took Uber to dinner last night and the driver said this wasn't true. Guess the guy driving the golf cart is not to be trusted.

This is definitely not true. However the port requires them to register and pay for a permit. Lately we've been finding it cheaper to taxi back and forth to the port.

Last February that was not the case, so unless the Port's changed the rules since then...

One advantage to Uber that we've found is that it's a fixed rate so if there's a line backed up going into the port, the meter isn't increasing the fare as in a taxi.

DH is an Uber driver and drops people at the port frequently.
