Having never been to this port before, how are people getting to LAX?  We just changed our return flight LAX non-stop to New Orleans, leaving LAX at 1215. We will drive the last 4 hours to the Destin, Florida area.  Our original flight had a layover in ATL, and arriving Destin FWB at 9 pm.  With the storm brewing we didn't want to get stuck there or lose our luggage if a lot of flights get cancelled.  They are already evacuating aircraft out of Tyndall AFB, an hour east of us.  I'm sure Delta doesn't want to leave any planes at our airport.

Originally we had hooked up to do an Uber with a couple fellow passengers, but they backed off.

We are not real smart on Uber, maybe have done it once years ago.

???🤔

Jim_lain- Thank you for the Regatta news. We board on 9/26, we love the Vines trips, this will be our third. Wish this trip included a stop at Catalina Island. The ship news, pictures and pages of conversation are great, thank you for the post.

The 3 or 4 times we've been there we used Uber, it's really not that difficult. Much better than a filthy taxi with a surly driver.

Is Regatta going into Dry Dock soon.   This afternoon our stateroom door opened without knocking or ringing bell.  It was the Housecleaning Manager.  He apologized and said he had to check something on our deck for dry dock repairs.

Last time we were at LA port we planned on using Uber or Lyft but couldn’t get a car to accept our request.   They were waiting for the rates to Surge.

There were a couple cabs waiting so grabbed on.   It ended up just about the same price.
