travelmama06 Posted September 16 #1 Share Posted September 16 We are looking at booking an inside cabin on ncl spirit for Australia/New Zealand 2026. There are rooms near the aft pool H2O on deck ten - has anyone ever been in cabin 10169, 10171, 10173, 10175, 10179, 10181 and 10183? I thought it would be nice to be handy to the adult pool but not sure if the motion at the aft of the ship would be too extreme ( as we are usually midship ) also is there a lot of noise from above or below those cabins ? thank you so much !! if you have any tips for this cruise itinerary that would be great !! Thanks again
complawyer Posted September 16 #2 Share Posted September 16 while you may be saving a great deal in cruise fare, i think you'll be missing out of all the beautiful scenery you would view if you cooked a balcony.
Asawi Posted Monday at 02:51 PM #3 Share Posted Monday at 02:51 PM (edited) I don't remember what number I stayed in, but I had a room very near the exit to the aft pool area and spice H2O on an Alaska cruise. My room was just maybe 20 meters or so from the exit to the area and I spent a lot of time there. Most days I was up early and watched the sunrise. I doubt a balcony would have given me a much better experience and it would have cost me so much more. Since have suffered from motion sickness for most of my life I was a little bit worried. No problems though. (I'm s solo traveller if that matters, but my room on Spirit was a family inside) Edit: I had a look at the deck plan and I would not hesitate booking any of those rooms you ask about! Rare kjquilts Posted Monday at 03:25 PM #4 Share Posted Monday at 03:25 PM If you go to YouTube there is a video of 10175. Looks like a fine inside stateroom.
Rare www3traveler Posted Monday at 04:05 PM #5 Share Posted Monday at 04:05 PM My standard answer regardless of the ship if this: book a cabin that is sandwiched between a cabin deck above and below you. You do not want to be above or below any public space. Research what works best for you,( those in your party like needed a handicapped cabin), what is in your price range, book through a reputable (hopefully local) travel agent. I rarely bid for an upgrade: your version of an upgrade and NCL'S version could be very different. Not worth the hassle and the unknown. Above all else, have a wonderful cruise. Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted Tuesday at 10:56 PM #7 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:56 PM @travelmama06 We have travelled a lot on the Spirit and have spent some time on 10. Those cabins are great, the one you have has no through traffic. Also remember that the bar closes early as does Spice H2O. You can get in the hot pools a little later but not too late. travelmama06 Posted Tuesday at 11:02 PM Author #8 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:02 PM Oh I didn’t realize the hot tubs closed early - I was thinking those would be handy to use before bed 🤷♀️
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM #9 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM @travelmama06 My wife goes to the show at 7/7.30 and I often used to be the last in the hot tub then. The pool was well closed down by about 8 and the towels removed.

We did a great 16 day cruise on the Spirit in April (Hawaii to Vancouver BC) and would happily sail on her again.
dexddd Posted Wednesday at 10:45 AM #11 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:45 AM Tokyo suite all the way. Our only issue aft circa 2016 was going over 20/21 knots, major shimmy back there. Might have been fixed since and with the focus on saving fuel, probably not an issue.
