thebutlerdidit Posted Wednesday at 06:16 PM #2 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:16 PM Scubacruiserx2, I’m just wondering if you’re the same scuba cruiser who my husband and I may have met onboard the Millennium in September of 2010, a northbound Alaskan cruise. It was our joint 50th birthday/25th anniversary celebration, and also our first cruise ever. If not - never mind and carry on!

But if it's any consolation , my wife is a Michigander and we met there in 1976 when I was on vacation in May from Florida . She's the best souvenir that I ever picked up on vacation . ☺️ 3

The 2nd was on Princess to Iceland , Ireland , England and Scotland in July with friends . We are just finishing that review The next one is this one on the Beyond . And our last scheduled one is Thanksgiving on the HAL Nieuw Amsterdam so that the whole family can make it including 2 of our grandsons who will be out of school for vacation . Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted Wednesday at 10:29 PM Author #6 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:29 PM Our first trips to continents different than North America were on the NCL Dream . In 2006 it was Europe and the Baltic . This was back in the Dark Ages . It was our first photo review and there were no cell phones or digital cameras . And we had dark hair back then . This photo was of Peteroff in St. Petersburg and is a digital photo of a photograph from film in 2006 . Our next cruise on the NCL Dream was to South America and I now had a 4 megapixel underwater Sealife digital camera . The photo is Glacier Alley across the deck of the Dream in 2007 . The second photo was some friends that we met on CC and did private tours with . They were from Europe , France , Chile and the US .
Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted Wednesday at 10:45 PM Author #7 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:45 PM Our 1st Celebrity cruise was a Transatlantic from Ft. Rare scubacruiserx2 Posted Thursday at 09:30 AM Author #8 Share Posted Thursday at 09:30 AM We had an aft view cabin with a balcony on our T/A , but we wanted more . A couple of weeks before the cruise an FV family balcony opened up for a couple of hundred dollar more , so we jumped on it . It was #7199 with a elongated aft balcony . It also had 2 doors to get to the cabin so it was quite . Behind the door on the right was a hall to the second door and closets . Looking back at the entrance . Note the large screen CRTV circa 2009 . 1

Got it. So the cruise in the title of this thread will begin in over 20 days from today, but up until then we will be treated to photos / stories from cruises that you took decades ago. It kinda' has the 'Dad is going thru the slide carousels in the garage again' vibe. Happy that you are a long time cruiser. Happy that you will meet up with past cruise buddies on your upcoming cruise. I guess for me the 3 plus weeks to actually wait for your Beyond review is too long. Hoping you have a wonderful cruise! It was for our 39th anniversary in 2017 . We usually do the longer cruises but this is a new ship so for us so 6 days is fine . We do know the ports pretty well if you would like any advice . There is a Roll Call for this cruise but it hasn't been very active and so far there has been no planned Meet and Greet . We will give you the link , but feel free to post anything here if you would like .

Bimini is the only one new to us, we are going to the Resorts World beach, hopefully that will be a relaxing day. We will be going over to the mainland in Cozumel to see the Tulum ruins, not my idea, but the my son and his fiance are really wanting to go. If it were up to me, we would stay on the ship and enjoy the Retreat that day, lol. Seems like a long journey there and back and it really is an all day excursion. We are booked through the Celebrity and have never been, so guessing it will be nice to see once.

We are booked through the Celebrity and have never been, so guessing it will be nice to see once. We have to admit that Bimini is a new one for us too . We looked at lunch prices and they are pricy . So we decided to have a Spa day and eat on the ship at some of the places that may be busy on the sea days . We have a place in Grand Cayman that we like with similar food that is much less that we usually eat at after SCUBA diving . The problem is that it's a tender port and we leave early so we may just have lunch there and skip the dive there . Cozumel is our favorite dive place and we were going to charter a fast boat that would take us to whatever reefs that we wish to dive on . It's $ 550 for 4 people with all of the equipment and he can take up to 8 . There are some other SCUBA divers on the cruise but they have not showed any interest . Our grand son used to snorkel with us when we dove until he was old enough to SCUBA . We have stayed there more often and longer than any other place outside of the US . We are doing a full family cruise on Thanksgiving and would love to dive in Grand Turk but most of our 3 kids , their spouses and our 3 grandsons snorkel so we will snorkel with them . We do prefer SCUBA as we are face to face and we can get much better photos and videos . Wife fish at 100 ' deep and on the surface ready to go . The reclusive Splendid Toadfish found only in Cozumel lured out of his den by one of our dive buddies , Phil . We really did enjoy the cruise and the room . Did they change the room on your cruise from what our old photos showed ? It looked as though the dining areas have changed when we looked at the new deck plan . One thing that we saw was Blu . We did book an AquaClass and Blu is open for breakfast and dinner there and suites can dine there as well . We haven't seen many photos of the ship's interior or of the different dining areas and we hope to change that on this cruise .
