Our 2nd Carnival Venezia B2B - 14 more days of "Fun Italian Style" (with pics) - 8/31/24

As usual, I head up to Java Blue for coffee and then back to the cabin to work on pictures. At 9:30am Patti and I made our way down to the Teatro Rosso for “The Wave” Morning Show. To start, Cruise Director MarQ is joined by Fun Squad members Lisa Marie and Gerry, along with the Effy Ambassador Aqib ……

 

 

 

 

 

 

After Aqib leaves Sam joins the group…..

 

 

 

That’s a wrap for this week…..

 

 

Afterwards, Patti and I went to the Non Smoking Casino. Patti played Video Poker for a while breaking even. I played blackjack for a couple of hours and did really well. I’ll be leaving this ship ahead of the game for sure. While I was sitting there Cruise Critic member Phoneman69 stopped by to say hello. It was a pleasure to meet you!

 

It was time for some lunch, so I went up to Lido and the Seafood Shack where on sea days they serve Asian food for lunch……

 

 

 

 

I took my food over to the Burano Pool Bar and ordered a Thirsty Frog Wheat to wash it down. I was still hungry so I went over and grabbed a couple slices of pizza…..

Afterwards I went back to the cabin for a nap. Jason has left us a hanging towel creature…..

 

 

Patti went up to the Lido Marketplace for a salad, and then watched the ice carving demonstration…..

 

 

 

 

 

 

Patti stops by the cabin to rest for a little bit, and then heads to the Teatro Rosso for the Q & A with MarQ and Lee Mason…..

Patti was only one number away but alas, she did not win. As she made her way back to the cabin she saw the Sunny Violins performing in the Piazza San Marco…..

 

 

 

Back at the cabin, looking outside you can see that it’s getting foggy outside…..

At 7pm I made my way down to the Teatro Rosso for the PG Comedy Showcase starring Landry and Arvin Mitchell. Patti is going to stay in the cabin and watch a movie. I got my favorite seat at the five seat high top in front of the bar. Arvin Mitchell sat down next to me and we had a nice conversation for about ten minutes…….

Both comedians did a great job with their PG material. Had to give them both a 9 out of 10. Coming up next was the Love & Marriage Show. I’m tired so I’m going to skip it this week.....

 

 

 

Getting back to the cabin I can see that the luggage is being put out in the hallway. Our luggage isn’t going anywhere…..

 

 

 

Back in the cabin Patti and I settle in to watch some television. I order chicken tenders and fries for the both of us. One cruise down and another to go!

Karry,  Patti found that t-shirt at Shop Rite of all places. It was a seasonal thing, so they probably don't have them anymore. 😎

I’ve found the greatest things at Shop Rite, Stop and Shop and Acme! I  can imagine her eyes popping wide with excitement when she saw that shirt! Wear it with pride! 👏👍🤗 (bet she forgot everything else on her grocery list to rush home to show you!)

Day # 8 – (September 7th)  -  Turnaround Day (7am – 4pm). 

 

I woke up at 2am and not feeling any movement I took a peek outside. The Venezia had already sailed under the VNB and was gliding through the New York Harbor. They never come in this early unless there is a medical emergency, though I never did hear the official explanation. Patti got up, grabbed the camera, went out on the balcony and took these night time New York City shots……

We are approaching Pier 88…..

We were docked at 3am…..

 

 

 

 

 

We went back to bed and then got up at 6:30am to a cloudy, drizzly, cool, 67 degree day. The television is trying to kick us off the ship, but we have our B2B letter that says otherwise!

The first passengers began debarking a little before 7am…..

 

 

 

We hung out in the cabin until 7:45am, when we made our way up to the Lido Marketplace to have some breakfast. We passed by the Atrium where we saw our former fellow passengers leaving the ship…..

 

 

 

 

MarQ is down there saying goodbye to everyone…..
