Julesmac Posted September 22 #1 Share Posted September 22 sailing from tenerife to brazil in november, which side of the ship has the most sun/sheltered balcony?
Rare Hlitner Posted September 22 #2 Share Posted September 22 A fun question for navigators/map readers. My question would be what time of the day. The ship will likely follow a Southwesterly course which would mean that the early morning will find the sun on the port side. As the day progresses the sun will move over the ship and later in the day the starboard side will be in the sun. A simple way to picture the situation is that if you want to see sunsets from your cabin balcony you would want to be on the starboard side of the ship. MBP&O2/O Posted September 22 #3 Share Posted September 22 ..... and in November the sun is almost at its maximum southerly declination.
Rare Teeara Posted September 26 #4 Share Posted September 26 During the Wonder TA in Fall 2022 we had a port side cabin. We had sun for most of the day. So if you are looking to stay out of the sun for most of the day, then you should book a starboard side cabin. It will be very warm for your crossing, so the shade will be nice. PSDottie Posted October 12 #5 Share Posted October 12 I will be on the Allure transatlantic to Barcelona in February. There is a good chance it could be windy and chilly so I would prefer a little sun that time of the year. Does it make sense to book on the starboard side? Yes, recommend you try for a starboard cabin. Edited October 12 by d9704011
