stellfamily Posted Wednesday at 07:17 PM #1 Share Posted Wednesday at 07:17 PM We are sailing from Rotterdam but wanted to fly into Amsterdam a few days prior. What is the best mode of transportation from Amsterdam to Rotterdam? We thought the train would work but it sounds like there is no room for our luggage on a train. Anyone made this trip or have suggestions?? Thanks

And yes, there is plenty of space of luggage. Every day, thousands of people get off a flight and get on the train with their luggage. Occasionally, the train may not be the answer for some people, but it really is the answer for the vast majority.

It used to be called Thalys but then Eurostar bought them and I think it's something else now. Other option is take a taxi or Uber-- I've done it both ways and the train was much less expensive and more enjoyable.
Rare VMax1700 Posted Wednesday at 11:15 PM #4 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:15 PM Inter City train from under Amsterdam airport directly to Rotterdam. Marriott is just opposite Rotterdam centraal station and Hilton is a block or so away. We did it in April this year during rush hour and although the train was very full, the offers of help we received for our luggage was overwhelming. We are in our 70's and there is a step up from platform to train, but would have no hesitation in doing it again.
Langoustine Posted Thursday at 01:44 PM #5 Share Posted Thursday at 01:44 PM The train. Plenty of room for luggage, don't know where you could have heard there is not.
