Seashore (NOT Yacht Club): 9/29 - 10/6 Pre and Post Cruise Review

We are getting packed and ready to travel to Port Canaveral to board the MSC Seashore on Sunday, September 29th.  This will be our second voyage on the Seashore after a shorter itinerary in December 2023.  For this trip, we did not purchase Wi-Fi as it was not available as an "included" package option.  However, we did get the Easy Plus beverage package.  Ports of call include Ocean Cay (with overnight stay), Costa Maya, and Cozumel.

What questions do you have for cruising on the "lower decks" without the perks of Yacht Club?

I'm looking forward to reading a non-yacht club experience 🙂

I cruise on this ship next month.  Just curious what deck you are on?  We will be on deck 5 (oceanview) just off of the atrium and I'm wondering what the noise level is like in that area.  I was on the Seascape last October and felt like the atrium was pretty noisy but we were up on deck 10 fwd for that cruise.  I also will not have wifi or the drinks package (I booked on a comped casino rate and adding the drink and wifi on at time of booking for the cheaper rate was not an option) but I do get free drinks in the casino.

I would love to hear all about your experience and all the things you enjoy about the ship and anything you don't and why.  Obviously you must have liked the Seashore to cruise on it again 🙂

Enjoy your cruise and I can't wait to read your post cruise experience.

We did enjoy the Seashore and were not able to do everything on the short itinerary we took in December.  Check out that review for our prior experience:

We are not gamblers, but I have seen a lot of people getting comped casino rates and wonder how much money we would have to risk.  Also, flashing lights and the noise of the games negatively impact me quite a bit in terms of headaches.  That is one of the reasons we may not go back to the two shows, Rock City and Total Divas, that we saw last time.

My husband can't take all the flashing lights and noise either.

I believe that Rock City and Total Divas were both on the Seascape, but I will definitely go to see them on this ship.

I've heard that people who are have completed online check-in with all information filled in (Fast Track) are now getting a different line labeled Fast Track.  I'd love to know if you see a separate line for this when checking in.  Would also like to know what your check-in time is and what the crowd is like when you get there.

I will let you know when we get there on Sunday.  We have done everything in advance including security photo and setting up the onboard account. "Fast Track" is on our boarding passes, both digital and paper versions.

So looking forward to your review as we board the Seashore on the 6th for our first MSC cruise!

Keep in mind that we did not purchase Wi-Fi so I may not be posting anything once we board.  If we find free Wi-Fi in Costa Maya or Cozumel, I might try to upload a few things.

Pre-cruise plans:  We live in North Carolina and will be driving down to Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday to stay in a hotel overnight.  From experience, we have found hotels (Hilton properties) to be less expensive ($100 - $150 per night) in Jacksonville compared to the Cape Canaveral area ($200 - $350 per night).  On Sunday morning, we will drive to an offsite parking lot and use a shuttle to get to the cruise terminal.  We plan to arrive a little early for our assigned check-in time and hope the boarding process will go more quickly than last time we sailed.  Back in December 2023, there was a delay with processing disembarking cruisers through customs.

Please be safe on that drive down.  Helena will be leaving her mark throughout the area.

Cheers

We're also waiting to board on sunday, but we are heading to YC. Anyway, excited to read your report, have a save journey to PC and a happy cruise....

We actually had postponed our repositioning from Miami Beach to Daytona until tomorrow because of the weather conditions late today evening in the Daytona area. We in Europe aren't familiar with these huge stormsystems....

Will be sailing on the Seashore in January in a balcony on deck 14. Have been on 1 MSC cruise, also a short cruise. I am curious who you are using for off site parking and how it goes. Last time we sailed out of Port Canaveral, none of the off-site facilities would take you to the ship before 11:00. We always like to get to the port around 9:15-9:30.

We are using Park Port Canaveral which would not work to get you there that early.  "Daily check-in begins at 10:30 AM. Disembarking guests are shuttled starting at 7:00 AM. The final shuttle of the day leaves promptly at 2:00 PM."

We are sailing in Dec coming from NC to and staying in Jacksonville. Usually we park at the port for other cruises we have sailed from, but this time, because it is a holiday and we don't want to deal with garages being full, we are parking off-site too. I would be interested in your off-site parking reviews.

We have Aurea experience with a spa tub balcony room but not YC. So we would like the Non-YC review as well.

We have used Park Port Canaveral several times and are on their email list which gets us some discount coupon codes.  They have been reliable and easy to use.  You can try to get on the email list now and see if that gets you a coupon code for your upcoming cruise.

Yes that is the one we are planning to go with actually.

Looking forward to hearing about your review! Going to check out your other one too...just booked for weekend getaway in December. For the short cruises we don't mind the inside cabins...only been in one before on a different line but also for 3 nights...such good sleep.

The thing that I am most curious about is the spa area. It sounds fabulous with the snow room and salt room, etc. Love a good thermal spa...I'm wondering about the pricing especially and how access to that area of the spa works.

Safe travels! I'm on the Space Coast and we didn't really get much rain down here...a lot of wind though...my yard is full of bamboo leaves and other such debris.
