The toilets at Antwerp train station took card - but lots of other places on our Europe/ UK travels did not.

Well, we couldn't bring them with us from Australia either - but I got notes in lowest denominations and then bought a coffee or suchlike there and then kept the change for toilet money.
ural guy Posted Monday at 08:53 AM #53 Share Posted Monday at 08:53 AM Hi- Just back from a Danube cruise. We were in Belgrade, and a women asked the CD about changing her Hungarian Florints in Dinars for a tip to our local guide. The CD told her no reason for that, the quide would be happy with any tip. The tour guide overheard, and walked over to confirm that they understand our situation and are glad to take any currency. They will convert it or use it on their next trip to Budapest for lunch.

We stop at the airport upon landing, find a convenience store and buy something small - water, chocolate bar, or such....give them a 10 Euro, and you usually get some coins. Smiling works great to change smaller bills as well. 🙂
sharkster77 Posted Monday at 01:40 PM #56 Share Posted Monday at 01:40 PM Step 1: Dear wife gets in rest room line. Step 2: I go and buy a candy bar with a 10 or 20-euro/pound note. Step 3: Required change is passed to wife in line. Step 4: Happy Wife = Happy life. Repeat as necessary. 1
