Rare grouchomarx Posted 16 hours ago #1 Share Posted 16 hours ago I have a cruise booked for next June so from time to time I check the pricing. A while ago it went down by about $400 so I called and got it repriced which was awesome. Today I checked again and it's about $800 more than my current fare! Is this typical for Royal (or any cruise line)? I never booked a cruise out this far, usually much closer to sailing, so I've never been in a position to be checking for a price change. Seems crazy for it to fluctuate so wildly.
Rare craig01020 Posted 16 hours ago #2 Share Posted 16 hours ago (edited) I use Cruiseplum to track prices on cruises. You can see dynamic pricing in action on this chart from one of my booked cruises. Edited 16 hours ago by craig01020
SUgwoz Posted 15 hours ago #3 Share Posted 15 hours ago On Thursday and Fridays they have sales which include OBC, in those cases they raise prices.

If you don’t like dynamic pricing, there are a lot of cruise lines that don’t use it the way RCI does.
Rare grouchomarx Posted 11 hours ago Author #9 Share Posted 11 hours ago I’m just glad I already got a price reduction and the cost continues to climb, I guess I booked at a good time and have many months to continue to check it and make sure I got the best deal.
nelblu Posted 1 hour ago #10 Share Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I was checking prices Thursday night of a booked 11 nite Odyssey sailing in early January '26 and couldn't believe my good luck--a drop of close to $500 (17% reduction) for a solo balcony cabin. I had to re-do it a couple of times to be sure. Sent an e-mail to my TA and next day the price reduction was reduced to $400. Still glad I checked. So net net, my savings was approximately $350 as I lost $50 in OBCs from the TA. Ps. Love Dynamic dining when it lowers my costs.😁 Edited 1 hour ago by nelblu
