Our flight arrives in Heathrow Feb. 1st, at 10 AM, and our hotel is at the Holiday Inn near the cruise port in Southampton, therefore can someone kindly confirm that we can buy a bus ticket from Heathrow Airport to Southampton ? Thank you, gloria c You certainly can. Check out National Express coaches (nationalexpress.com). The coaches are quite frequent, take around 2 hours and would cost £33.00 total. They drop off in town, so you could walk to the hotel, or catch a cab

phabric Posted Thursday at 07:06 PM #5 Share Posted Thursday at 07:06 PM Check Heathrow site to see which terminal you fly into. You will be able to see where to catch National Express Coach. Each terminal has a different place to catch National Express coaches., Plan on purchase in advance tickets 90 minutes after landing, You can purchase extra £ encase your plane is early/late to get on another Coach. Make a note of the last stop as Southampton will not be on sign on the front of the Coach. Once at Southampton Coach station, go through their building, there will be taxi stand to go to your hotel. FYI - get your hotel pre order a taxi for your embarkment day morning as taxis are busy on embarkment/disembarkment days. www.heathrow.com
blloyd78 Posted Friday at 06:58 AM #6 Share Posted Friday at 06:58 AM I would suggest pre-booking a taxi for when you arrive at the Coach Station in Southampton - there are never any taxis waiting at the rank outside. https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/national-express-to-southampton-cruise-terminal
sddsddean Posted Friday at 08:25 AM #7 Share Posted Friday at 08:25 AM If you are staying at the HI, the coach station is an easy 10 minute walk away. If you are going from City cruise terminal (usually RCI, Celeb &NCL) you are right beside dock gate 8 and can walk to the terminal in 5 mins...no need for a taxi unless it is chucking it down! There's no longer a Terminal 1 at Heathrow. The destination board on the front of Southampton-bound buses from Heathrow show Route No 205. As @phabric has posted, Southampton isn't usually mentioned on the board - the bus's final destination is usually Bournemouth or Poole. Yes, book in advance. And it's wise to pay a little extra for a flexible ticket. ............................... We've not experienced any delay in getting a taxi from a cruise terminal. 🙂 But altho there's a taxi rank at Southampton coach station, as @blloyd78 posted it's usually empty or if there's a taxi or two they're snaffled-up by the quickest off the bus. 🙁 So a choice of wait for one to swing by, or phone for a taxi or uber, or a 5 minute walk to the train station where taxis come & go very frequently. Or if the weather's dry, you don't have any walking difficulties, and you're cruising from Horizon or City cruise terminals (mebbe even Ocean cruise terminal) it's a simple & level 15 minute walk (20 mins to Ocean cruise terminal). And hey, there's no rush, you'll have plenty of time.🙂 JB 🙂 Edited Friday at 01:23 PM by John Bull
