Distance from LAX to cruiseport

Does any one know how far it is from LA to where RCCL boards its ships? IS it worth buying transfers from RCCL or can we higher a cab?( how much would it cost)

Last year we paid about $33 for a taxi for the 2 of us. I would expect the RCI transfers to cost more than a taxi both ways. The port is in San Pedro, several miles from LAX. We flew into Long Beach avoiding the hassle of LAX, and saving a few $$ and minutes travel.

Its Beatrice from the other board, its a good 30 to 45 minutes with freeway traffic, Im sure a taxi is expensive, Id see If RC hs a deal or something to accomodate you...

Supershuttle (they have a web site) provides good and efficient transportation for less than the cruise line transfers.

We used Prime Time Shuttle and they were great. Try googling the name and see if their site comes up. It has all the info.

...depending on how much time you'll have, you could rent a car from Enterprise at LAX and drop it off at their San Pedro location. It is literally 2 minutes from the ship. We only paid $26, but had made the reservation long in advance. It's the closest car rental location to the ship, that I know!

We also used PrimeTime Shuttle and were very pleased. The cost was $32 per person round trip from LAX to pier and back to LAX.

Where are you coming from, and can you fly into Long Beach? Not only is Long Beach Airport closer to the docks, but Jet Blue flies into Long Beach.

Taxis have a set rate of $45 to LAX as of 3/13/06. For about what Royal wants you can take a private town car back & forth through primetime (154.10 includes tip). We used Primetime to the port and loved the personal service and help with the luggage. Took a taxi back. Taxis were lined up with a man taking names and telling you which cab to get in so more organized then other ports.
