What do you do first thing on board?

Remember the show "The Love Boat" and everyone went to the deck and threw streamers and watchd as the ship left port and the whistle (horn) sounded? That must not really happen. Think it is because of the mess left in the port when the ship sails??:confused:

First thing is get to cabin, remove flashlight from carry on bag, carefully inspect mattress for BEDBUGS :eek: then if none are present, Enjoy Vacation! If bugs are found, enter the mother of all hissy fits!!:mad: Demand another cabin sans the bugs.

Grab some lunch and learn my way around.

We roam the ship to gather our bearings.... esp if it's a large ship. Then we have some lunch and wait for the sail away party and hope our luggage has arrived by this time!!!!! :)

I see a lot of people dropping off carry on if room is ready. Is it necessary to have "carry ons"? Can you check all your luggage with porter before embarking so you don't have to pack stuff around with you?
