One stupid question please....what did they use to do that?

As I understand it, she is being cut in the middle and a new section added which will include specialty restaurant amoung other things. Also numerous verandas will be added as well. Guess she will be a new Mille class or very close to it.

Just to clarify.... Century is NOT being cut in half. That was the original plan, but that is definately not happening with this refurbishment.

 

Century will be very close to M-Class when the work is completed.

It has been four weeks, I am sure by now we can make a minor joke about those two cruises from hell...

 

Just wondering... will the webcam remain on during the entire operation? I would be fun to monitor the progress!

Looks like the cam is on Resort Deck, portside facing aft - looking along the open deck alongside the therapy/treatment rooms?

 

What were they planning to do to that space?

Floris -- thanks for the heads-up. I kept checking the webcam and noticed it was locked up on that debarkation image from Barcelona. Fun to see what's happening to Century. If anybody saw the Discovery Channel show "Drydock: A Ship Reborn" about Soveriegn of teh Seas having balconies added, you'll have an idea of what's about to happen. CRAZY!

The cam is on the Promenade Deck facing forward. Not the place for a gentle stroll after dinner at the moment.:eek:

I agree, but I highly doubt we will get to see much from that view, other than what is getting thrown in the garbage LOL.

 

I tried looking for a webcam for the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo to see if we can get a better view of the progress. So far, I have had no luck. I will keep trying though.

I have only been on 5 cruises but I relly enjoyed the Century. It is a great ship. The pictures on the web cam made me sad.

Glad to see your post, I look foreward to seeing the new Century. Should be great once its done, though some of the changes may be for the worst like getting rid of the T-pool.

I haven't been as regular over here since the incident. Have you posted a review of your SA cruises. I think you were on the one with the accident.

 

Hi Cruise Arizona! Yes, we were on the cruise with the accident, although we were on the 2-night Manchu Picchu excursion when it happened. I didn't bother to write a review yet, because I am still upset about the incident you refer to. And because I feel there is too much negativity on these boards... especially about Millennium. I've stopped going against it, it has proven to be impossible.

Anyway, WOW, Machu PIchu!!! Fromers Budget Travel had a recent issue on Dream Trips, and this was definitely one of them.

 

I had some neighbors who had nothing but negatives to say about Celebrity, so it would be nice to see your review aboutthe total experience of the two cruises!!!!

I agree, but it has been there since it was installed. I would like to see them add an actual BRIDGEcam like they have on the M-Class ships, during the refurbishment.
