Anyone have referral cards?

There are 6 of us (3 couples) booked for the March '07 Pride crossing. We are all first time Seabourn cruisers. If anyone has a referral card would you care to have the referral(s)? Please email me at muskox@lycos.com.

Also, how does this program work? It's been difficult to get a good explanation from Seabourn. Our friend who actually told us how great Seabourn is, said he couldn't get the referral credit because it had to be done before we booked the cruise. Is that right? The person I just spoke to at Seabourn said the referree had to have a cruise booked to get the credit. Is that right?

Thanks!

Dee

Hi Dorinda,

You may be (ahem) "referred" up until you make final payment.

The refer-er will get a certificate, that they can use whenever they book the next cruise.

I understand these credits not combinable with the AMEX platinum credit, can anyone confirm this?

jake1, unfortunately, you ae correct. The following text was printed on the back of the referral coupon I received with my 2006 brochure:

“Original referral coupon must be received prior to sailing. $400 Onboard Gift Certificates are per suite, non-transferable and will be issued once the referee makes final payment. Onboard Gift Certificates expire 24 months form date of issue, are not redeemable for cash, have no residual value, cannot be used in the casino and are not combinable with any other onboard credit offers. Referred friends and family members may not have already sailed with Seabourn. Offer is subject to change without notice.”

However, if you book a Virtuoso sailing through a Virtuoso agent, the complimentary Virtuoso shore excursion would be allowed; but if Virtuoso only offered a shipboard credit and not a shore tour, then the Seabourn referral shipboard credit would not be allowed (if you took the Virtuoso credit). This fact was discussed about 4 months ago on another thread here but I can't find it to verify. Any Seabourn sailors with better memory than mine care to comment on this?

The above text should read as follows (boldface font denotes changes - I am not shouting at anyone)"

"However, if you book a Virtuoso sailing through a Virtuoso agent, the complimentary Virtuoso shore excursion would be allowed in addition to the Seabourn shipboard credit. But, if Virtuoso only offered a shipboard credit and not a shore tour, then the Seabourn referral shipboard credit would not be allowed in addition to theVirtuoso credit."

This has been discussed before, but if you buy 100 shares of Carnival, you can get an onboard credit of AUD 250 for a voyage of 14 days or longer. I haven't ried that yet, but have the stock. It is also non-transferrable, but will cover all their lines. Also, there is an AMECO credit too, but I have not used that either.

RE: The eabove comment about sharing a cabin, one can use the referred passenger's credit and save the referral passsenger's for another time.

>"Jane-Seabourn reservations told me that neither passenger in a shared cabin may use the referral credit. Where did you hear otherwise?"

Sorry, I must be mistaken. Not sure where I heard this.

Since Scotty emailed you first, in case anyone else visits this thread, I have two.

Jane :)

Jane; We are seriously considering the March 11 STT to STT cruise and it would be our first cruise with SB. By chance do you still have the referral cards (it may be two couples going)?

You can email me at caribbeantrvlagt @ bellsouth. net

Thanks,

Sue

Susie:

I've got a booking for that week, as well!

I also have referral cards available, so let me know if you need another one after Jane's.

You're gonna love it!

Paul

Hey Paul...thanks I do need one more for sure! Please drop me an email and I will send you my address.

I better hurry and book as it seems this is a popular cruise! My luck the lower category will be sold out! :p

Paul, do you have two? If you do, send them both to Sue for your two booked cruises. I have one I was going to send her, but I've already got a referral card in for my December 2006 cruise, and my March 2008 cruise, although booked, is iffy right now. Let me know.

Jane

this is getting complicated
