Actually, presentation of the food is just as important as the taste and the smell. The sight of the picture can conjure up long term memories of the taste, smell and texture....and if it was good, you'll want it again...and if you want it again that means another cruise! OMG, where's my pictures of our last cruise with pics of some food from Teppanayki?!?!?! I need another cruise! LOL :)

I am not going to flame you for this :-)

I happen to love looking through this site of the photos of certain cruises, especially the crown since thats our next one if a few months. When I saw the photos of the choc. buffet I nearly died! I think its great when you see the photos of the ship and its different areas and the food is a plus. It gets me even more excited about going and I already feel like I know some of the ship (if that makes sense)...

Someone recently posted a fabulous review with awesome pics of the crown and my boyfriend and I really looked through each one.

Just my thoughts on this... Enjoy the day.

You're post made me laugh, check out my avatar from my first lunch on the Spirit! DH couldn't believe I was taking a picture of the cheesecake:o, but whenever I look at it I smile:)!

I never glance at avatars... but looking at yours makes me wish I had bought breakfast this morning...

Cheesecake factory for me at lunchtime!

I'll come too! It's been way too long since I've had their Cobb Salad. Or the Shrimp Scampi. Oh wait...the crab meat rangoons...I could go for that! Yum...Cheesecake Factory is my favorite restaurant. :)

Ya know, I haven't been on a cruise yet but will be in just 9 days. :D

I am an avid scrapbooker and I have seen other people's scrapbook pages where they make a page of all the foods they eat on the ship. I've also seen this with food at Disney. I mean just think of it. The picture of you standing by an islands sign, or the one of you and your DH/DW standing next to the ship's railing with the beautiful sunset behind you or the professional one done during formal night on that staircase....these aren't the only memories of your cruise, is it? NO.....when you come home and tell all your friends all about your trip, I am sure you tell them about that wonderful prime rib dinner you had or the scrumptious chocolate buffet or the "too many" foo-foo drinks. I think having pictures of some of the best foods you ate will bring back some great memories. Plus like someone else mentioned, for people who haven't been on a cruise, all types of pictures will give them a feel of the ship (whether it's pics of the pool, restaurants, casino, buffets, etc) So this is the reason I will be taking pics of the food when we go on our very first cruise next weekend. So if you're on my cruise, I'm gonna be the one with my camera out at all times (even during dinner) :D

We bring our camera to most of our meals on our cruise and take pictures of the food. We appreciate the care and work that go in to the presentation of the different courses so much that we like to take pictures. It's memories of our cruise, the delicious food, and the beautiful works of art that the chef's create.

Don't you just love these tuxedo strawberries we got on formal night?

Off topic, but I wanna wish you a wonderful cruise. The first one was special to us and one that we probably remember most. And without it, we never would've had all these other great cruises.

I don't know about most of you but this is the only time I get to see food looking nice on a plate. Most of the time it is just thrown on a plate. Here (on a cruise) I feel like I am getting the royal treatment. Pics also let others who have never been a a cruise see how good it is.

I feel the same way. The presentation of the food on NCL is top notch. I just sit and ooooooooo over it, and then take photos! I just went over to my Webshots album to look at some of my food photos, and all those wonderful memories came flooding back. Now I think I'll go get a snack. ;)

We've taken pictures of the chocolate buffet and videos of the chefs at the teppanyaki restaurant - not something we get to see at home so something "different" to show our friends and family.

On a land based vacation a few years ago our son (aged about 5 at the time) took lots of photos of all the different foods being offered as he had been asked to do a project for school during their summer vacation - on food. It was particularly helpful that the resort had different themed buffets each night - gave him some great photo opportunities.

I've just looked at your webshots, as well! They were honestly some of the very best I've seen! Of course, it didn't hurt that the pics I looked at were in some of my very favorite ports in the world!;)

Oh! And your signature kind of explained why you would be at a BBQ onboard when you were in SAN FRANCISCO!!!!:D :D :D

Thanks for sharing!

Hummm-I normally take my pictures for me & my family. Showing them to others is incidental, and if the photos happen to be what others want to see, so much the better, but not my intended purpose or concern.

No Melika we're not gonna slam you with this but just give you an explanation.

I am a Chef and i know what people want to see to impress them. everyone eats with their eyes. If you make something that looks bad people probably wont even try it, thats why whenever i am making a meal for a customer i have to make a great plate presentation and also make it taste good. The reason people take pictures if because they are impressed with the plate presentation. It lookes too good to eat.

Every dish thats the same order should also look the same, if you ordered a lobster tail dinner, the plate should look identical to the one at the table next to you.

ok just thought i'd like to share this info with you

Happy Cruising!
