There has to be something wrong - tried single room for 2/5/11 for one night - went up to $120. and tried Resort and 4 star and still nothing. Have been trying to find a number to call - but can't. Found some 800 number but of course it is all auto - press 1 to book - 2 to book car, etc.

I went to priceline like I was going to book and pay their rate - checked out Resort and 4 star - - I would assume these would be the smae hotels you are bidding on. Next to the hotel name and "star" rating - it gives you the location!

Going to keep trying.

Good Luck everyone!

Thanks. Can you let me know star rating and what icons were showing or if it is still there? Need a room for March. Thanks.

Well, found out from another web site that there are 4 big events the weekend of 2/5/11 - so that might be one reason why I can not get a room. Folks on my roll call did get them earlier.

Will try tomorrow on my girlfriend's cc and see what happens.

Puffinator...we took the Hotwire bid and it was a three star. We also used a $20. coupon from Hotwire. Cannot remember the ammenities but they were the same as described in the 'better bidding' site. The key differentiator was the tennis nearby icon. IF we had bid Priceline, this would be a 3 1/2 star. We are now going to bid Priceline for a post cruise stay but we really wanted to be in the downtown area for precruise.

Priceline

$115.00 each night for 1/7 and 1/8/11

Mariott San Juan Resort and Stellaris Casino

Bid on 4 star

We would like to try somewhere else post cruise. Does anyone know if we would get a different resort if we actually bid resort and not 4 star. Thanks so much!

If you bid 4* then, you actually got an upgrade to the Marriott. If you bid resort only in San Juan, you could still get the Marriott or one of the other resorts.

I bid 120, resort option, and got the El Conquistador Resort Waldorf Astoria in Fajardo for our three nights post cruise.

Also got Marriott Stellaris in San Juan for 120 for one night. Couldn't believe I got the one in Fajardo!

Thanks for the info. Hotwire is a bit pricey for our trip right now so I will just keep checking it.

Me too. I got up to $140 for 1/14 and got no takers. I have been trying for about a week now. I know that there is a street festival that weekend, but this is crazy!

The best I could do was get Comfort Inn for the night on a refundable price ($125 + taxes/fees = $153.99) and I will just keep trying. I can't believe it was that high for a 2/2.5 star hotel for the night!

Although reviews for it are mixed, it sounds like it will be a clean room in a safe, convenient location - and maybe I'll get something better later.

Jewel Beth- I also was bidding on 1/14 and was rejected for over a week. I finally booked Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel & Casino San Juan for $134 non refundable, just a few days ago. Looks like a decent place with good reviews.

It has to be my date for my issues with Priceline -I bid up to $135 for one room one night on 2/5/11 and got turned down.

I have bid Resort and 4 star.

I guess I will just keep trying!

Donna-

Even though I have given up, I keep checking back to see if you get a room. I am rooting for you. Make sure you let us know if/when you get you room.

Donna - dsw..Last minute travel is showing a 3.5 star for $88. I have tried to get some feedback on the hotel but have not had any luck.

Someone in the Florida departures forum posted how to find what hotel it is on lastminutetravel. Their sister site is touricoholidays, and they use the same code numbers for hotels.

The $88 3.5 star is on last minute travel with this url: http://www.lastminutetravel.com/PageHotelDetail.aspx?hotelId=7778&provider=localTgsProvider&SearchResults=1&pg=1

See the hotel ID is 7778.

At Tourico holidays the url is: http://www.touricoholidays.com/en/PageHotelDetail.aspx?hotelId=7778&provider=localTgsProvider, which reveals the hotel as the Howard Johnson Isla Verde.

You can use this information for any last minute travel hotel by copying the hotel ID number into the tourico website.

Unfortunately, I don't have any information about the HoJo Isla Verde, but at least now you know what you're looking at!

I guess I should have been a bit clearer. I saw that post and knew the hotel. I am hoping to find someone who has stayed there and can provide first hand info about the stay. Maybe someone will drop in with some info. Trip Advisor does have some positive reviews but I like the cruise board perspectrive also.

I would get nothing less than a 5 star or a 4 star hotel on Last Minute Travel - but even those look good for the price - I would prefer Priceline - but I need 4 rooms and that is impossible - - Last Minute Travel lets me book 4 rooms - - they all gave me the go ahead last night - but I won't have time to check it out until later this week.

Thanks for your help though - now I have to figure out the info you gave me! lol

Forgot - I should have posted on the above - - I spent most of the day yesterday checking hotels my room size and compared that to LMT to see if I could figure the hotel - then put the actual hotel cost vs LMT cost and there was a big savings.

In my next life I want to be a T/A - lol:o

Kittycat - where are you finding the Hotel ID number - I don't see it anywhere?

# of nights: 2 (pre cruise)

Hotel: Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino

Area: San Juan, PR

Site: Priceline

Winning bid: $110/night

Over the past couple of days I had bid $90-$100 with no luck so today just decided to go for $110 since so many people seem to be getting resorts for that. I was actually hoping for Caribe Hilton but I am sure all of the resorts are great.

We enjoyed the Marriott Stellaris, stayed there one night in 2009. Won it again through Priceline 2 days pre and 1 day post cruise for next January. It's close to dining, shopping and transportation to OSJ. We actually did not want the Caribe Hilton or the Intercontinental so was very happy when we were awarded the Marriott on both bids. :)
