Port Canaveral

Many rent a car, but if you stay at the Sleep Inn, you can get round trip shuttle for $35 pp. If it's only two of you, this is probably more cost effective than renting a vehicle.

You can also get shuttle service from a place like tropicana transport.

Orlando is less than an hours drive from the port. You can probably do a google search and find dozens of transportation companys in Orlando that make this run. Might actually be cheaper than doing a car rental as you have to remember that you would have to do 2 one way car rentals, once to the port and once back to the airport. It's worth checking out both to see which way is most cost effective for you. Good luck!

Happy Cruising :)

For me, rented a car at Budget, drove to the port, unloaded our big luggage, took the car to the office (CC5 on Astronaut Blvd), dropped it off and rode their shuttle back to the port, where the driver dropped us at the door (about 40 bucks total cost). On the return trip, their shuttle picked us up, took us to the office, got our car and we were on our way up the road by 09:00 a.m. Cost on the return trip was about 35 bucks).

Check with your travel agent or cruise web site for a transfer from Orlando

to Pt Canaveral. A taxi is almost out of the question as its about an hour

or so drive. There are a number of providers offering shuttle service, just

do a google search. I know you can get a round trip in a town car for less

than $100.pp....good luck and good cruising...

If you just have one or two traveling, the cruise line transfer service is likely to be your best bet. If you have three or four, renting a car at the airport and returning it in Port Canaveral may work best. Just be sure that the drop-off station in Pt. Canaveral is close to the port and offers free transfers to the ship. We made the mistake of using a rental company (National, I think) which was miles from the port and required a cab ride to the port, in spite of the fact that the rental agent at their call center assured us that they offered shuttle service.

We usually rent a car from Budget. In October, we paid $42 for the rental and about $10 for gas. Last time I checked the cruise line shuttle was $35 p/p. The car rental worked great... The Budget office is close to the port and they have a shuttle that drops you off at the port. They also have one to picks you up after the cruise if you rent a car for the return.

Have a great cruise! :)

Ok, we are arriving on an early flight into Orlando and taking the cruise ship transfer...should be there at the latest - noon. DH wants to get an order of Frankies Wings and Things to take on the ship! Here's what I am wondering...TA said to go ahead and check into the ship and then go back out and get the wings... What do you all think? It is not far from the pier..they are actually located at the pier that the casino ship goes out from? Any suggestions? THanks. Part of me thinks we should have just driven (with all the new TA rules and stuff)...however, we got the transfers and air for just about $200pp so we thought it was worth it than the drive down, hotel stay, and parking fees...

I don't know if you will be able to get on the ship, then get off again. I would call the port and check with them on their procedures. They are located at http://www.portcanaveral.org

I suspect you'll want to get the snack before you get aboard! Also, it is quite a hike from the ships to where the restaurants are located.
