I happened to log on here from work and spotted her going through a lock too! My brother and his wife are currently on board, I am so envious, no doubt they are up on deck right now enjoying every minute!

I have been glued to the webcam and have been thrilled to see QE2 going through the panama Canal, something I would love to do and this was the next best thing-------am I a saddo or what??????:D

Thanks .....a couple of years a go I did the Panama Canal on QE2 & it is fantastic....its the entire day & one I'll never forget.....if you want to do it - go for it.

 

I met people from a RSSC ship that sailed through the locks alongside QE2 - they said they were jealous!!!!!

Bringing back some fantastic memories. The QE2 always gets a large crowd of locals watching her go through. I can remember the Captain saying that she hates to go through the canal and the tugs have to push her into the locks like a nervous racehorse going into the starting gate. Would love to be back on that beautiful ship now.

THANKS for that transat_jon that was FANTASTIC...it bought back memories of my 2006 transit and has been permanently added to my photoalbum....(with a credit to you of course!)

I also have captures from the lock cams, but these tend to be fairly jumpy. When I tidy these files up I will get them on a permanent location somewhere, I'll keep you posted!

The webstream was really neat. I'm a civil engineer and would love to do a canal transit on a good ship. My late father was stationed in the Canal Zone.
