serene56 Posted December 30, 2008 #976 Share Posted December 30, 2008 Thank you Serene, I appreciate you answering my question. Thankyou for the advice to get the machines turned down. I guess I won't be worried so much now. is this your first cruise?
SAAdds1 Posted December 30, 2008 #977 Share Posted December 30, 2008 What you see is NOT all that is available. Cruiselines will only show 59 available in each cateory- there are more remaining Wow. Thank you so much. I had no idea that there were other cabins available that were not showing online. I was able to book JS 7168 when I called directly to Royal Caribbean. The agent suggested a cabin in the middle of the ship on deck 8. When I asked if there were any aft JS, the agent responded, "Only on deck 7." So, is deck 7 bad? He responded that it was on a deck lower than the activities. Do people really want to be as close to the activities as they can get? I can manage to walk up and down two flights of stairs. (I don't think I would want to walk up and down four or five flights all of the time, but I could handle two.) I guess I'm just trying to figure out if deck 8 is so much better than deck 7. serene56 Posted December 30, 2008 #978 Share Posted December 30, 2008 Here is something I snatched off cruisecritic in the years I been here The higher you go--the more you pay The more you pay the more you sway. Stay on deck 7--between decks of cabin space and away from public areas.
caro1 Posted December 31, 2008 #979 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Serene this is not my first cruise but my eight. It's the first time though that I've been located under a casino. A few times I chose my cabin others I was on a guaranteed but always got a good spot and upgrades.I cruised on the same ship (ncl Jade) in April Athens to Istanbul and chose an inside cabin on the 10th deck. It was a good location.

Stay on deck 7--between decks of cabin space and away from public areas. Well, deck 7 is above a dancing/music room. I imagine that they would do karaoke (sorry for the mis-spelling), but my husband is hard of hearing in one ear, and I'll just get earplugs for the other ear. I really appreciate you letting me know that there were other cabins available that were not on their website. Are you a travel agent by any chance? Is that how you knew about that aft junior suite? serene56 Posted December 31, 2008 #981 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I am not an agent at all. Been on these boards since 2000 and do a lot of reading. When I do sail I spend a lot of time talking to managers, etc. Every cruiselines will only show 5-7 available cabins online- when you see less the cruise is selling out. By watching the site you should look for price drops-- if the price comes down--call your agent.
beaver Posted January 1, 2009 #982 Share Posted January 1, 2009 We are sailing on the Emerald Princess Southern Carribbean in Feb. Our cain is R622 BB. Any comments on this cabin? Is it partially covered?
tiyana4 Posted January 2, 2009 #983 Share Posted January 2, 2009 This room was horrible! The floor was hot! My feet felt sunburnt all week! Not to mention one of the crew doors was right behind my bed, so all night and early morning it was slamming as well. Very noisy and warm! I would avoid this room! Erica Although our cabin temperature and floor was fine, we had the similar issues with cabin # 1271. We booked a guaranteed cabin on the advice of a TA (I know, shame on me) and ended up with this one. The cabin was midship and seemed to be OK. However, I didn't realize the shaded areas on the ship map were crew rooms (dishwashing, fire escape, room service, etc.) We were awakened every morning around 4:45 am by doors slamming next to us & across the hall and were kept up late nights listening to crew bang pots and pans all night. Avoid this room like a plague!

CanWeGoYet? Posted January 4, 2009 #985 Share Posted January 4, 2009 Any feedback on this room? Eastbound transatlantic, just changed my room assignment from 9187 for the starboard side - was hoping to stay on the same deck but nothing fairly midship now available. forrest08 Posted January 4, 2009 #986 Share Posted January 4, 2009 booked into 7272 on the costa concordia. Seems OK surrounded by other cabins, but it is right next to the funnel, is this a bad thing?
Kutty1101 Posted January 6, 2009 #987 Share Posted January 6, 2009 Celebrity Constellation Cabin 8003? (or 8002) We were offered this cabin when we called Celebrity directly to book an oceanview room for our family of 4. The said it is actually larger than the standerd stateroom because it sticks out farther than the veranda rooms right beside it. When I look on sailings even in 2011...I can't see it avail on the website. (Not even if I type in a request for this room.) We booked less than 6 weeks before our cruise. I'm wondering if this is a room they hold onto for whatever reason??? Does anyone know anything about these rooms....other than they are in the front of the ship. The larger room outweighed the fact that it was near the front of the ship. (for us, anyways.) Thanks, in advance.

The TA says she does not know!!Thanks in advance. yikes? are you her first client? time to get a new Travel agent. (the agent should know just by looking at the deck plans if a balcony is obstructed or not. 4157 is a balcony cabin - it is unobstructed. there will be lifeboats next door to your balcony. But they sit in at the recessed part of the ship. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1283596522062547426gQNStz Edited January 9, 2009 by serene56
imacruiser2 Posted January 9, 2009 #992 Share Posted January 9, 2009 I just posted this, but found that this might be a better place to ask my question. Carnival Pride 5107, good, bad, or great. We are sailing March 22, 14 days, would like to know that it is a quiet room. Thanks

Curious question though-=- did you book this cabin? or was it given to you by way of a guarantee? You got the cabin for the whole 14 days?
imacruiser2 Posted January 9, 2009 #994 Share Posted January 9, 2009 It was a guarantee. We are doing the Panama Canal on the Pride when it goes from West Coast to East Coast. I always book guarantee and only once have we been disappointed, but they fixed it so all was good.

jorgesgirll Posted January 10, 2009 #997 Share Posted January 10, 2009 I picked this cabin because it is only 4 doors down from the elevator and stairs. I Like to be mid ship The group I am with is on the 4th floor, and I did not want to be that low. Seeing how some of them are not getting along I think I did the right thing. Although it really didn't matter if they were or were not getting along that is way to low for me. No offense to anyone. I will let you know when I get back if there was any problems with this cabin. JulShut Posted January 10, 2009 #998 Share Posted January 10, 2009 My frustration is that on the Princess Website my cruise doesn't show any price. It keeps saying check back later - ring them or your travel agent. I'd rather not keep telephoning people. Do you have any ideas why the price doesn't show up.

AgVball Posted January 10, 2009 #1000 Share Posted January 10, 2009 D1 Balcony cabin 6644 on Voyager. I've seen pictures online of what the cabin should "generally" look like. It shows the sitting area at the entrance and the bed in the rear of the room by the sliding glass doors (to the balcony). Do any of you know if these rooms are really set up like this? We're just curious to figure out what our room will be like with two pack-n-plays setup in the sitting area.
