kleibo Posted September 3, 2007 #376 Share Posted September 3, 2007 Just got off the Legend Yesterday. Great time. Unfortunately the sports bar was a huge disappointment for my husband. They didn't show sports - they had soaps and movies on in there. You do get channel 2, 4 and 7 so if the games are on those channels you should be ok if it is a national event on that channel - if not, it'a a Denver Feed. BORING. You would think they would at least have a Washington or New York or even Miami feed.

The only sports I ever saw on the TV was Tennis. jon
keishashadow Posted September 3, 2007 #378 Share Posted September 3, 2007 Kids 12-16 are allowed to use the gym whith parent supervision. If you have 3 or more in one cabin send some to gym to shower. My son and I showered there most every night. thanks, handy to know! Am i correct in that the gym is located @ bow of ship? not sure if anyone will want to make the long trek from our aft cabin;) -still good to know it's alternative. sallyb Posted September 3, 2007 #379 Share Posted September 3, 2007 I prefer the showers in the spa, much bigger than the ones in the room. It's worth the walk. Our steward must think we never shower!:o Does anyone know if the spa showers on Legend have multiple shower heads like some other ships?

The showers (in the men's locker room anyway) have five heads one on top two on each side. Much bigger then room shower.

cruisers7771 Posted September 4, 2007 #385 Share Posted September 4, 2007 quick question for ya'all.... I'm working on my door sign for the Legend Christmas cruise, and don't know whether to print it on magnetic paper or not. Can someone tell me if the doors on the the Legend are metal, or should I just bring my tape ??? PMC7704: I believe a while back you asked me to let you know how room 8232 was.....(if this wasnt you, sorry) 8232 was good. You dont back up to the laundry room like our TA said, instead you back up to the ice machine area for the stewards. BUT, the machine sits back in their room quite a ways so we never heard it. The only thing we did hear was the people's kids next door on the other side. With the extended balcony, we only got 2 chairs for this long balcony. We were supposed to have 2 lounge chairs as well but the steward said they were a fire hazzard so they had to take them out.....but the people next to us had them. So the balcony was very roomy but we never made it to the other end because there was nothing down there. Hope you get some lounge chairs when you go. (if not, demand them. we asked but were told no) Also, I see you still have a ways till your legend cruise and I know the crew switch out every six months.....so I dont know if you will have our steward but let me tell you a few things about him: (This is if you have him) His name is Anthony. The first thing he will tell you are his hours. So this was a hint not to call him between 12:30 and 5:30. Our toilet broke twice. (not from us, just on its own) The second time it took Anthony an hour and a half to call us back and by then it was 5:30 (his "on" time) We only saw him 3 times and he never spoke unless we spoke to him. Hopefully you will get someone else. We found this whole ship to be a "so-so" on our list. I havent had the time to write a review yet, but it will come soon and I will list everything.....good and bad. Overall, make the most of it like we did. :)
rynosmom Posted September 4, 2007 #386 Share Posted September 4, 2007 That doesn't make me happy. You would think they would offer all of the major sports channels. we just sailed the Legend on 8/26/07 and my DH and DS wanted to watch the Little League World Series on ABC in the sports bar. The TV's were set to ESPN Vivo and CBS. We asked for ABC to be put on and they had no problem changing the TV. You'll be happy!

Our steward was very rude upon our first meeting. She began her introduction with a lecture to my 12 and 16 year olds about keeping their stuff off the floor or she would throw it away. At first I thought she was kidding with them but I soon realized she was not. We only saw her about 3 times over the course of the week. On three nights she forgot to bring down the bunk for my DS and we had to wait for someone to be sent. What a pain. On the other hand our server and assistant server at dinner were fantastic they were personable and helpful. our server was always willing to assist my picky eaters with a good menu selection. They were A+.

Let's face it, even in the roomiest of cabins with 4 people sharing, something will have to go on the floor! Jeeezz!! Glad your Dining Room staff was good. the_dylaness Posted September 4, 2007 #389 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Hello! I am writing with a question about toiletries. I DID search and see that someone had a romance novel, 2 pieces of gum, some pepcid AC, and other assorted things. However, what I would like to know and haven't been able to find is this: Do they provide shampoo/cond/lotion/soap? I would imagine so but you never know... I don't want to get somewhere and not have enough lotion for a week! Is it restocked daily? (I know, I should just bring some, but my scuba gear is putting me TOOCLOSE to the weight limit so I am trying to pare down everything I can.) sallyb Posted September 4, 2007 #390 Share Posted September 4, 2007 There is shampoo & liquid soap in the showers on all the Carnival cruises we have been on. The extra toiletries are samples, so they can change.

Just was on the legend a few days ago: There are 2 dispensers in the shower. However in ours, only one was actually labeled as shampoo, the other was missing the label. I always bring my own because I dont know what brand they use. Also, my guess is that the other one was soap, not conditioner. We had some samples and they were: pepcid complete, olay quench body lotion (small), 4 small, flat samples of toothpaste, and a his and hers razor by bic. Like previous poster, they could change. I would suggest bringing your own stuff but in travel sizes. In walmart and Target they have that bin isle where most things are $1 or less. have a good trip. Ithocles Posted September 5, 2007 #392 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Has anyone heard about what ports they will be using for the Legend cruises in the future? I've read that Costa Maya will be out until some time next year. I've got my fingers crossed for Key West.

Last Friday PVP said Roatan was unlikely, "pretty sure" Progresso:D of course, i wasn't sure if she just said that because i was ready to jump ship to the Glory (now sailing to Progesso;) ). she did say to look for an announcement middle of month or so; they're working as fast as they can. best laid plans could be ruined with all the tropical storm activity so far

4kids3dogs2cats&fish Posted September 7, 2007 #396 Share Posted September 7, 2007 First post. Thanks for the great thread. Does anyone know if the balcony dividers can swing open between adjacent cabins? I know on some ships they can. With the lack of connecting cabins on the Legend (very few), I would think that Carnival would make up for it by having balcony dividers open and close. Yes/No? 4kids3dogs2cats&fish Posted September 8, 2007 #400 Share Posted September 8, 2007 Is it safe to book a flight home at 11:15? How soon could we get off the ship and get to the Tampa airport? Are suite passengers allowed to get off first? TIAFAR. update...After reading a lot of the recent member reviews, it looks like the self-disembarkation gets you off quite fast. Gotta give credit to Carnival for trying something new. I've never heard of that method before. It also helps that you can keep your bags in your room the last night. How many passengers would you say use this method? If a lot, then I would think the hallways and elevators could get quite jammed in the mornings.
