TO_HockeyMum Posted May 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2007 Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to secure the kid's cards when they roam the ship? They'll need them for our rooms and for the drinks, etc. Thanks!
cb at sea Posted May 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2007 If your child is old enough to roam on their own, they should be old enough to take care of their room key! Many folks will get lanyards that they can wear around their neck. Pockets work well, too! If the kids aren't responsible enough for that, then YOU should hold their keys for them, and not let them roam!
goscudder Posted May 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2007 My kids were 9 and 11 when we sailed on Disney's Wonder last year and the lanyard around their neck worked out great.
DrivesLikeMario Posted May 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2007 When my kids first started cruising in 1999, we were the first ones to use lanyards. People would stop us & ask us where we got them. I bought them at home, made my own clear plastic pocket and they put their cruise cards in them and also their video game cards. It worked out really well for them. Now, you'll find lanyards everywhere - at home & at sea. Once my sons got into their teens, they didn't want to be seen with a lanyard around their neck. :o If you don't want them to be able to charge things, then RCI can fix that for you at embarkation. I also suggest not letting your kids roam alone, or at least limit it.
ddolphinmom Posted May 6, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2007 If you sign the kids up at Adventure Ocean, they get a lanyard for free. They never even have to ever stay there. I would recommend them to stay and try it, but my DD, age 6, never wanted to.
