Children on Celebrity

No, it's not "too bad". That adult sanctuary away from children and teens

is THE REASON we cruise Celebrity. We wouldn't even consider cruising on the ships to Alaska or other sailings which draw larger than usual numbers of children. When we cruise on Celebrity, we expect to have our adult areas remain childfree.

I don't care how cold it is outside, there is plenty for children to do—fully clothed and warm—on an Alaskan sailing.

Were there any kids (or their parents) trying to invade the area?

Did you?

OF COURSE NOT! I take offense to your tone. Don't jump to conclusions!

We obey the rules. I did not see anyone younger than 30 invade that areas either. I was surprised with the good behavior of kids on board our sailing because most of them were from large families (5-8 children per family).

I think children cruisers should be treated the same way as adults, especially when we paid just as much for them as any other adults. But we respect the adult-only rules. Just as Casino and liquor is off-limits to people under the legal age, we respect the adult-only rule for pools too. The point of my commenting on the fact that there is no indoor pool for kids is that there are no options for kids to swim in except the outdoor pool and for Alaska, that's a little unfair. The Spa pool that you so claimed for adults only is no good for lap swimming anyway--the water would be too warm.

600??

Can one of our Celebrity TA experts verify if that is even possible on the Infinity?

600 people under the age of 18! People under 18 in our country are considered kids...and sometimes these kids don't look like kids, so it's not an impossibility to have 600 of them running around the ship, especially during Spring Break.

A Celebrity cruise is the perfect family vacation, featuring special children's programs for ages 3 - 17. Along with activities and play areas just for children - all closely supervised - Celebrity offers programs for the entire family. Celebrity's children's programs are available year-round and activities take place daily. During the summer and holidays a full program is offered for four age groups: Ship Mates (ages 3-6), Cadets (ages 7-9), Ensigns (ages 10-12), and Admiral T's (ages 13-15 and 16-17). A limited program is offered during other sailings.

Staffing

Youth activities are directed and organized by a special staff of youth counselors. Youth Counselors have a formal education in recreation, education, child development or related fields. In addition, Youth Counselors have experience working with large groups of children, 3-17 years of age, in school/community sponsored youth programs or summer camps. Youth Counselors hold certifications in CPR and some speak Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Portuguese. All Celebrity ships carry a minimum of 3 Youth Counselors year-round. During holiday and peak season sailings (President's Week, Easter, Summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas) Celebrity ships carry 8-12 Youth Counselors.

Just FYI--
