How much do you spend on your Sea Pass?

Recommended Posts

Very curious to find out how much people spend and on what. I don't think we'll prepay tips this time, but do wonder about what our final bill will be. I hope it's really, really low. Hoping to get ideas.

What do you normally spend on your sea pass?

I hope for the same thing every cruise and it never works out! :D My wife takes too many trips to the SPA, I drink and gamble too much...but we have a blast!

How many folks are going to be tied to your SeaPass account?

We are sailing Alaska in just a couple of weeks. I don't do the spa thing, but we do enjoy a drink or two a day each, and a little gambling. Maybe a picture if they are good. I am shooting for $ 400.00 not including the tips.

Depends on what you buy! Throw in bingo, gambling, wine, and a few trips to the spa... our Seapass on an 11 night cruise was nearly $2000.

Of course, we were spending a bit more freely after doing well in the casino.

Depends on who I'm cruising with, but my fiance and I managed to ring up about $1200 between the two of us on our last 8-night cruise. We always prepay our tips, but that rarely makes a dent in what our total bill usually ends up to be.

A handful of photos, about $200 in gambling, and lots and lots and LOTS of drinks. It doesn't help that we're ex-bartenders so we always tip over what is already included.

Set a budget and check on it daily to make sure you are sticking to it. It is far too easy to get caught up in a moment and blow the budget. If you don't drink you will probably save a bundle especially if you bring your own water and soft drinks on board.

I'm always surprised how low our seapass bill is considering I eat every night in the speciality restaurants, go to the spa 2-3 times a week, prepay my gratuties, send out laundry, buy flowers, duty free liquor and buy a few drinks at the bar. I bring money to gamble with, pay bar tips, room service tips, spa tips, waiter tips, and laundry service tips in cash.

We decided to be aware of how much we were spending this last cruise. I think our total seapass bill for two adults and two kiddos was right at $200 for our 5 day cruise. We did have to remind ourselves a couple of times that we should take advantage of the things we'd already paid for, but we were still able to enjoy a drink before dinner or at the show and the late night party charge for our DD. I was thrilled when I picked up our charges at the desk and they barely took up a quarter of the page!

My spending is unlimited. I'm going to have a good time and I don't care what it costs. I tell my wife to go for it, and does she ever...LOL

On our last Brilliance cruise we started out with $450.00 in OBC and on day 2 it was used up. Our final bill was still under $2000.00.

Mine is rediculously low for myself. For a one week cruie, usually about $150. Specialty restaurant or two, tips, a drink or three per day, Coke card, and pictures. I can't quote for my family, because sometimes there are 5 of us, sometimes 8. But none of us go to the spa or gamble more than $10 a trip, so that cuts it down a lot. We used to get free Coke cards from being Coca Cola employees, and I have occasionally brought my own liquor on board. I also weigh little and it usually only takes 3 or 4 drinks to get me sloshed :) I enjoy being a cheap drunk!

Mine is just for two people: my husband and I. Our seapass bill includes EVERYTHING - excursions are booked onboard, gambling, drinks, coke card, souveniers, etc.....

ON freedom last year for a 7 day cruise, we spent 1500.00 and we got a wine and dine package and everything. I think that's not too shabby

For a 7 day cruise, our SeaPass usually comes in between $300-$400 for two of us, and that is covered by onboard credit from our RCCL Visa.

That is really just our bar tab and maybe $30-$40 in on board purchases. We pay our tips in cash and either do excursions on our own or pay for them before sailing.

I'm so happy to see that I'm not in the minority of low totals. For the week, I average about $100. My lowest bill was $5.56. My cabinmate's charges one time were negative. :D We pre-pay excursions and pay tips in cash. Rarely do we use the spa and we take advantage of the concierge lounge. Generally, we don't buy the pictures (heck, we don't even pose for them, saves paper that way), but that C&A book has a free picture coupon. We don't buy the soda package as you have to drink a lot of soda to make the cost average out. Those I pay the direct charge and limit myself to one a day, just like I do at home. We also book our next cruise while on board to get the ship board credit. We do eat in Chops and Portofinos and order a bottle of wine, and we do get drinks in the bars. Occasionally there will be shop purchases ($10 jackets were too hard to pass up one time). We also use those coupons in the C&A books (free ice cream or coffees, internet minutes, J&R, etc.) Living in Las Vegas, the gambling has no appeal. I think the bingo is highly overpriced so we skip that. It's a bit a game to see how low we can go while still doing what we want.

On our Radiance trip, our final bill was around $3, but that was because our most expensive excursion was cancelled, so we had a huge credit. It was fun looking on the TV and seeing the negative balance all week.

Last November's 13 night transatlantic my bill at the end was $16.00. Although that's not usual for us. Just didn't find anything to buy, we don't gamble and the drinks were free in the evening. :)

I think you deserve some sort of prize. Shows it's not necessary to spend big bucks.

We put $1,700+ on our last cruise. It was 7 days and there were four of us. WE had a blast. Don't worry be happy!

Our bill ran approximately $800. We had $150 in ship board credit so our bill would have been $950. However, this included our tips, our drinks (we drank quite a bit, I'm sad to say - but I'd do it again! hehe), casino money (NOT much - tooooo smokey for me), Chops & Portofino, cash from the casino to pay our excursions (did our excursion through private guides, not the ship excursions) and a few other minor odds & ends. PLUS, we had cash left over! We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary/my birthday and didn't worry about money. To this day I have no idea how we managed to get away with spending so little on our cruise. (But I'm NOT complaining!) :)
