gr8grannie Posted September 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2007 My husband and I, both in our early 60s, would like to take a Caribbean cruise in February. We are anxious to get reservations made but don't know where to start. Which cruiseline and which route would we most enjoy? We are looking for a relaxing vacation without too much excitment. Will appreciate any suggestions.
Rare LHT28 Posted September 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2007 The best advice is talk to a travel agent they can give you a cruiseline that suits your lifestyle, budget and what you are looking for in a cruise. There are so many choices out there as well as opinions. What one person may like another will not. Talk to a travel professional in your area. enjoy your cruise

ndavis7515 Posted October 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 4, 2007 Try Holland America. We did the Amsterdam last year, but I think the Volendam is doing that route this year. 10 days to southern/panama canal. We have cruised twice with HAL and find that we (ages 62 & 55) fit in perfectly. There are less youngsters on the more than 7 day cruises.
Snorkel Dawg Posted October 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2007 I would suggest a western cruise because of inexpenisive costs. Look for a great deal & next time you can always upgrade:)
Trainman-2 Posted November 5, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2007 My wife and I are the same ages you are and we enjoy the Western Caribbean. RCI's Mariner of the Seas is a great ship! We don't rush around trying to get in all of the excursions. We just go ashore and wander around. Sometimes we hire a taxi for an informal tour. Relax, take it easy, take some good books, and enjoy yourselves.

cato 07 Posted November 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 8, 2007 My most favourite ports would be anything with a St. in it. St. Lucia, St. Martin were my favourite so I would have to say the southern Caribbean. I would also say either Princess or Royal Caribbean, they are fun but not wild! Good luck on your choices!
