ryane369 Posted September 9, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Could someone please tell me if there's smoking in the lounges, bars and disco's aboard this ship? I'm also sailing on the Caribbean Princess on November 25, 2007 and was wondering if anyone has an idea of how full the ship will be and the age group's of this sailing. I'm 25, just interested to see if there's many my age group on this ship??? Thank you!

I'm 25, just interested to see if there's many my age group on this ship??? Thank you! I saved my Princess Patters from last week and this is what is listed for the Caribbean Princess as to smoking areas. Smoking is allowed on outer decks on the port side of the ship only. Also, there are designated smoking areas on Promenade deck 7 inside the Wheelhouse Bar and Club Fusion. Also, smoking is allowed in the casino, but keep in mind that the first formal night is a non-smoking night in the casino after 6:00 PM. Gotta love those that half answer a question and then lecture you............................. ARGH! Not sure if you are a smoker or not, but keep in mind if you are that all dining areas onboard are all considered non-smoking areas, as well as the spa areas. As for age groups onboard the CB, they usually have a real mix. If you are sailing during Thanksgiving vacation, there will be more younger couples and familes onboard. But I am sure you will find a good mix of age groups that you will fit in to no matter what date you cruise. This is one ship that always seems to have a good mixture of all ages onboard. Have a great cruise.

Toto2Kansas Posted September 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Thanks so much for your reply ToTo, it was much appreciated.:) I'm not a smoker myself and i'm very dislike the smell of smoke. Smoking areas are very limited onboard, so you should be just fine. And keep in mind that non-smoking night in the casino. They only have it for one night, but for non-smokers, it is a nice surprise. BTW-All Princess ships we have sailed on recently have had at least one non-smoking night in the casino (depends on the length of the voyage). Just watch the Princess Patter, it will be listed there. Again, have a great cruise.
SoSueMe Posted September 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2007 I only learned from this thread that smoking is allowed only on the port side balconies. I don't recall seeing that in any of the Princess info. I'm glad I booked starboard, although I am not overly bothered by smoke in outdoor settings. Also very glad to hear that there is usually a smoke-free casino night. At least I can breathe comfortably while being fleeced. :D

I had a balcony on the starboard side of the Star Princess and smoking on the balcony wasn't an issue. I do try not to smoke when my neighbors are out on the balcony however. And yes, this past April when I was on the Coral they had one night in the casino that was smoke free. I still went in and left my donation, I was just a bit more nervous :)

The port/starboard thing is for the public decks, not the balconies. Makes us glad we book insides. Would hate to pay the extra money for a balcony and not be able to enjoy it because of smoke drifting over.

Smoking is allowed on all balconys on Princess ships. Unless this is a very new rule. Jo
SoSueMe Posted September 9, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Oops. I misread Toto's post, and she's talking about the public decks on the port side. Thanks for clarifying.
Host Caroline Posted September 9, 2007 #10 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Because the OP's question was answered before the lecture began I have closed this thread. If you want to debate the pros and cons of smoking, health ramifications etc. this board is not the place to do it. Your cooperation on future threads is appreciated
