What would you like to see settled once and for all?

I am biting my tongue to prevent a political comment from slipping out!

Okay...to keep it to cruise topics: I would like to see a cruise line enforce the 'no chair-saving' policy they all supposedly have.

I didn't see the poll part of your question til now! I will go vote.

Are we talking cruise issues here, or whirled peas? Assuming the former, I would love to see the issue of appropriate dress in the dining rooms settled. I would cheerfully wear jeans and a T-shirt if everyone would agree that is appropriate and not give me grief about it! And I'm one of those who loves to dress up.

I find it very easy to not make political comments here, out of courtesy, common sense or lack of desire to view my CC friends as naive or misguided should we not see eye to eye, which is about 50/50 likely in this climate. As to chair hogs, the reason that wasn't on the list is that we never fight about that here, no chair hogs post to defend the practice.

A wise statement! Bravo.

As someone who has never cruised before, it is very confusing the whole "formal" but only for some, not enforced/enforced etc. I think many new cruisers share my confusion, at least what is discussed on the boards. For cruisers who don't use the boards I think it's pretty black and white in all your cruise docs.

I'm happy to wear WHATEVER, and greedily took formal night as an excellent excuse to buy 2 fabulous new formals for the cruise, tee hee hee.

There does seem to be a gender divide there, I rarely hear men gleefully use formal nights as a reason to go tux shopping. Dress up is for big girls too it seems.

I would love to have Princess, and for that matter all cruiselines, write a cut in stone dress code. I honestly don't care much what it says as long as it isn't suggested!! It just isn't fair for new cruisers to ask the question, and we can't give them a true answer, only our opinion on what we think it means. Our opinions don't mean anything, without the "written in stone" answer!! :(

Are you by chance related to my wife??? Bombero.. :) :) :)

we are ALL related!!! :)

Hey, DH gets to play in the casino (lucky for him there's no hold-em or I'd be taking all his money), and I get my spa days & clothes, even trade. ;) From what I gather, he is more than happy to see me all dolled up, and I happily flaunt it!

Either way is fine by me, [Princess] just give it to us straight.

I get tired of the booze "smuggling" threads. If you have to sneak it on, you already know it is wrong so why are you asking if it's ok? You are going to do it anyway so just go ahead and smuggle, but don't be looking for excuses. Just because everyone else does it, doesn't make it right. If you are asking if it is okay to openly carryon -good question- all lines are different about soda,beer,etc.--but asking for creative ways to smuggle and trying to justify it is silly.

I would agree with Sue and others that ALL CRUISELINES, not just Princess should once and for all deal with their dress codes and enforce whatever they are...............you know..........it is awfully hard to enforce a suggestion........and for me because it is a suggestion.........hard to really get upset with what anyone chooses to wear......

ENFORCE IT!! NO CHAIR HOGGING ;) Yes you can go to the rest room, yes you can get food.. No you cannot go back to your cabin and take a nap!!!!

On that note I voted for the booze smuggling.. Everyone does it, enforcement is haphazard at best, just let people do it.

I look forward to continued input on a variety of subjects which have been discussed before including the ones above. I hope that in many of the "choices" listed that both "sides" can be fully discussed, examined and explained for the benefit of all members.

For example, to debate Anytime against Traditional dining and, in effect, choosing up sides as to which one is "best" seems inappropriate and sets a negative tone. More consistent with a positive discussion of value to members would be to present information and personal experiences that would allow members to decide which one is more "appropriate" for them and their situation

I'm all for making formal - FORMAL. Like Sue says, don't suggest it, carve it in stone. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of Formal Nights.

I would be afraid tho, if they dropped the policy that we would have folks coming from the pool to dinner.

srphnx - I am already perusing the stores for bargins for next April. :)

Did Chris go to law school over the weekend? So diplomatic.

Clearly these issues won't ever be settled, the poll was about which would you like to see settled.
