SSLaly Posted September 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2007 Mariner of the Seas Honeymoon Hi! FI and I just booked our honeymoon (11/16/08). we are going on a 7 day western caribbean cruise on Mariner of the Seas. We are both very excited, but the only down side is that we need to drive for 3 hours to get on it.... when we have 2 other ports in our backyards! :) but oh well. I was wondering if you know of any free incentives or ammenities RC offers to their honeymooners? Please let me know. Thank you!
Sue L Posted September 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2007 The only thing you will most likely have is a "honeymooners" party on board. There are no $$ incentives that I have ever heard of .
cathleen Posted September 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2007 There will be a party for all the honeymoon couples with free champagne and munchies (a cake if I remeber right). Not much more than that. There's several "romance packages" you can puchase, however, that have everything from champagne to chocolate-covered strawberries to spa treatments. You can check those out on the RCCL web page.
beachchick Posted September 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2007 There's a thing on the CC home page right now about honeymooning on cruises, including what the cruise lines do (and don't do) for honeymooners. The bottom line (so to speak) is that there are just far too many honeymooning couples for the cruise lines to be expected to give free incentives, perks, upgrades, or amenities. On one cruise we took, there were more than 200 couples honeymooning. There's just no way the mass market cruise lines can do much more than have a little party or perhaps a little goody in the cabins. beachchick

Im celebrating my birthday on board this next cruise, so birthday people would want something too if they did something for other special occassions. Didnt cruiselines used to decorate the cabins for free, or was that something people purchased? Now you have to pay for everything like that. I'm kind of thinking there won't be many other honeymooners on my cruise.. 11/29/08 Transatlantic on the Voyager.
