Meerjungfrau Posted September 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2007 I read on some people's reviews that a dance performance (by children?) took place in Raiatea> Just wondered, does this performance take place at the same time as shore excursions or is is possible to take an excursion and still see the performance? Iamboatman Posted September 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2007 The absolutely precious, and not to be missed, performance occurs on deck by the pool at 5:00pm. (For our cruise it was a little bit delayed because the ship usually is there on Sundays and we were there on a school day.) So you need not worry about a conflict with a tour. Jim B Posted September 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Our group did the river tour and did not get back until a little after 6:00 so missed most of it.
Iamboatman Posted September 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2007 As I understand it you must be in Raiatea to see them. There are a lot of children and I don't see them making a long voyage and have never heard of that. As for getting back later from a tour, I think it may depend on your itinerary as the ship left immediately after their performance, so a 6 PM return from a tour would have had to be unanticipated. Check your schedule as to both the performance and the tour return times.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted September 13, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2007 Not sure how it is now, but on the 7-day Societies itinerary, they come on to the ship in the morning I think, before the excursions start, so they don't overlap. Rare RachelG Posted September 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2007 On our 7 day cruise, they came aboard in the morning before the excursions started.
