Is Explorer's Muster Held Inside or on Deck?

This will be the first ship we have sailed on with the possibility of cold weather. Is the muster held on deck? or in a lounge inside? Don't want to have to run down to the cabin for warm clothes at the last minute.

I don't know how they handle cold weather musters, but they have muster stations both on deck and in some of the lounges. If it's uncomfortably cold, I'm sure they'll accomodate you in some way.

Best bet is to grab a sweater when you grab your lifejacket--just in case!

With the exception of the handful of cabins that have indoor muster stations, you'll be outside so dress accordingly. There's just no place to put everyone indoors.

I agree with cb, muster stations are inside and outside. There isn't room for everyone inside and they aren't about to relocate muster station signs anyway, I wouldn't think. The back of your cabin door (and your life jacket) will tell you where you will be so you can plan what to wear before you go to muster drill. If it's really, really cold I believe they have the option to delay the muster until the next day. I recall reading somewhere that the muster drill must take place within 24 hours of departure as per maritime laws. Perhaps someone can confirm.

Most will be outside, some in theaters, bars or other public rooms. Just the luck of the draw. It is different when it is cold since you need to bundle up. When we left from Galveston it was sooo cold, 50's plus alot of wind. That was the first time we had our coats on with our lifejackets! I prefer the warm muster drill....LOL

define COLD!!! our weather in NJ is wacky just like us....layers layers layers!

 

(hey it was, i dunno, 65 on Christmas last year....or close to it.....IIRC..or maybe it was really warm on New Years Eve....ok so maybe it was the champagne.)

I am in cabin 1320 on the Explorer. Does anyone know where the muster is for that cabin?

I do know that the roll is taken by the person responsible for you taking the cabin number from your life jacket as you go by...on the Radiance last month, it was so quick...the staff was so good...we got to our station and within minutes he already had everyone accounted for...

It depends on the ship. I've had them call out cabin numbers and I've had them mark of the cabin numbers from our life jackets as we walked up.
