Things you DON'T do on a cruise

We all talk about things we do or plan to do on our next cruise....what are some of the things you don't do??

For us....

Go to the theatre to watch a movie

Dine in our cabin...even when we have a balcony

Attend the Cruise Director's preferred store sale pitch, often times referred to as an island briefing.

Buy Tanzanite

Play the slots.

I already am gambling that this big old ship will really float for x number of days on that deep salty ocean. Why should I push my luck with a quarter?

Play Bingo

Ditto the above. Besides, it is the most boring game devised by man.

Attend exercise classes.

I came along to relax, not work up a sweat. I can do that at home.

Buy all those facials and body wraps and sweet smelling stuff at the spa.

Took all my money just to get on board.

Spend the evening at the bar.

Are you kidding? With three drinks and the rocking of the ship, I would never make it back to my cabin on my own two feet.

Ask for a second dessert, even if it is chocolate.

OK, so I am lying.

love

joan

I never question why I'm lucky enough to get to go on cruises...I have several friends who just look wistfully every time I say I'm on my way to another cruise....other than that...I've done everything that's been posted that others don't do... :o

I also have never visited the gym on a ship, and have no plans to. On my last cruise I was ready to kill my neice, she wanted to stay in the cabin and read. Now I always bring some books to read on a cruise, but as I tried to explain to her, don't stay in the cabin and read, go up on the deck and read! You can feel the breeze and get some sun. I just can't understand why she wanted to stay holed up in that tiny cabin!

Never go to the gym. that's apparent to everyone the moment they meet me.

No movies unless it's during a hurricane and there is absolutely nothing else to do

No pre port sales pitches

No art auctions

No breakfast in the diningroom.

No meals in the cabin

No captains welcome aboard cocktail party on Celebrity (boring)

No bingo.

No movies.

Only "first" breakfast in the cabin. (First breakfast = coffee, juice and a croissant)

No ice carving demos. (Went to one and have the t-shirt.)

No port briefings. (Usually just hyping their "kick back" retailers.)

And most of the stuff mentioned above....except the lounges....probably ought to say no but...... :D

I haven't tried to buy anything at an art auction.

I haven't seen a movie.

I haven't tried room service.

I haven't used the swimming pool.

I haven't used the salon or spa.

I've never used the laundromat or dry cleaning service.

I haven't even been tempted to play bingo.

However, since I'll be on a long cruise with many days at sea this winter, I imagine I will do a lot of those things, but I still won't play bingo.

I never forget how lucky I am to be there, too many people never get the chance.

I never take for granted the kindness shown to me by members of the crew.

I never forget those who make my cruise so special.

I never forget to tip well, those who have done so much to make my time on board.

I have never found an easy way to get off the ship. It's aways so hard to leave all the friends we've made behind.
