Boytjie Posted November 4, 2007 #127 Share Posted November 4, 2007 thankyou peter, you were one of the lucky ones, and my time will come, its hard when i enjoy a cigarette , take care linda Funny thing was that after I stopped, I thought I would really want a cigarette while having drinks. On maybe 2 occasions I'd light one up but it was awful, so that craving went away too.

Back off, it's all mine. And just what makes you think I am a nasty drinker? Mind your head when jumping to your conclusions! I enjoy a few cocktails and it usually doesn't interfere with anyone around me. The last time I spit up a beer all over some hapless person across from me when I was at university and that was a long time ago. And if you can smell the alcohol on my breathe, back away some more. Julia’s Journey’s Posted November 4, 2007 #144 Share Posted November 4, 2007 oh please. you say you complained to the captain about it even - in a social setting no less. Yes a great social setting 6.30pm the captain, my DH, DS and the captains son were in the pool, no one else and why would them discussing it be such a problem to you?? They were discussing items being fixed or changed while the ship was in dry dock - I guess when YOU talk the whole ship would hear your conversation:confused: I never said we complained to the captain DH discussed it which is the difference between us hearing the problem and you getting a free cruise!!!!! Charles4515 Posted November 4, 2007 #147 Share Posted November 4, 2007 I would also suggest that nonsmokers prepare themselves for smokers who are no longer going to be considerate. As smokers are more and more being pushed out we are going to take advantage of those places that we are allowed to smoke. Back when we had more places to smoke it wasnt a problem to put one out if it bothered someone. But now when we have such few places you arent going to be seeing this happen. I am seeing this happen more and more here in california. Indian casinos are the only place we are allowed to smoke inside any more. When nonsmokers ask someone to not smoke they are told to go to the nonsmoking room. and most people aren't nice about it anymore. So if balconys are one of the few places left to smoke on cruise ships I see the same thing happening. If smokers become less considerate than they are already, then there will be even fewer smoking areas than now faster. And certainly balconies are going to become non-smoking sooner or later. It is just a matter of time until the smoking areas are down to two. One outdoor area on some corner of the deck and one indoor area in one lounge. Most smokers are considerate, it is only a few that are not, but it is the rotten apples that get remembered because of the smoke stink.
