We are on a ship's tour in Oman- for now anyway. Will they take small US bills in Oman for incidental expenses or small purchases? Thanks!

We were there earlier this year, and they did take USA dollars.

 

If you take a cab be sure to negotiate up front the cost and if you want them to wait for you negotiate the r/t cost.

We had some local money, we changed about $50 to Rials in Singapore on the way. I found it easier and cheaper than using other currencies. There was a bank in Salalah (right next to the gun market, I kid you not - see the photos above). It had an ATM from memory. No problem finding an ATM in Muscat.
