jeno Posted October 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2007 We are on a ship's tour in Oman- for now anyway. Will they take small US bills in Oman for incidental expenses or small purchases? Thanks!

Rare Keith1010 Posted December 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2007 We were there earlier this year, and they did take USA dollars. If you take a cab be sure to negotiate up front the cost and if you want them to wait for you negotiate the r/t cost. Keith
lahore Posted January 19, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 19, 2008 We were there a few weeks ago. Check out my reports (scroll down a bit, it starts with Italy) at: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=687569 We had some local money, we changed about $50 to Rials in Singapore on the way. I found it easier and cheaper than using other currencies. There was a bank in Salalah (right next to the gun market, I kid you not - see the photos above). It had an ATM from memory. No problem finding an ATM in Muscat.
