Tipping on Shore Excursions

Hi,
I hope this is not too dumb a question, but being new to cruising I'm not sure. Does one tip for a shore excursion? We will be taking the horseback ride with Southeast Tours and the Misty Fjords flightseeing with Island Wings. If so, how much would be appropriate? Thanks for any info.

There were a couple of threads on tipping last month.

Tipping depends on the service. I would tip 5 to 10 bucks if I like the service and if I don't well then no tip. But most of the people guiding you don't make big wages and only work a short season. Have a good trip and a trick to watch for is the first guy who is shaking the guides hand, if he tips every one else will too.
Even a buck or two helps those college Students!
