Man Carnival must be losing money. No casino, very little bar service since they are still attached to Texas, no shops.

I bet there are going to be a lot of mad people. I bet we see a lot of I deserve a free cruise threads coming up. Somehow this will be Carnival's fault althoufh the Coast Guard/Pilot will not let them leave.

I'll bring the popcorn once those threads start showing up!! 16.gif

As I mentioned in the other thread, I think these pax will be seeing Progreso before they see Jamaica.

Just a hunch!;)

I think you're right... Jamaica is a pretty fair haul and being 16 or 18 hours behind schedule makes Jamaica pretty improbable... She'd be about 400 nautical short of making Jamaica Wednesday AM...

Hey check this out.....says Conquest is out in the gulf.....someone messed up.

*****/schiffsposition.php?schiff=Carnival+Conquest

That's right, it says it's scheduled to be out in the Gulf right now. If you scroll down just a little bit below the picture, you'll see that this isn't the actual position of the boat, but the scheduled position meaning that this is where it is providing it left on time.

Just reported they were notified by Carnival they would not be leaving till Monday. Fog situation is bad, I bet most of us and those on board would prefer to be "safe", these things can go down when a hole is punched in em.

I agree they must be replacing a port.. Or just nixing Jamaica all together and doing another sea day.

I still say Progreso although it may be the last port depending on being able to change other port days. That way they still get three. I was on a Conquest cruise that was diverted to Progreso, so it wouldn't be the 1st time.

Thought I would drop a quick note here. We just drove in from Galveston and got home around 11:30 pm. Yes, we were delayed due to Fog. We did get into Galveston around noon. I can't believe the poster that said they got off in 15 minutes  As you can imagine just getting all that luggage off is a feat in itself. They did begin to let off those with early flights off first. By 2:30 they were only calling Zone 8 & 9. We were Zone 28  My DH talked to they Pursers Office and asked to get off at that time since we had major car problems on the way to Galveston last Sunday, and did not want to drive too much in the dark in case of breakdown. Thankfully we did make it home.

Also I wanted to confirm Mark Price was the Cruise Director on the Conquest, at least this past week. He was great, kept us well informed during this longgggggg day. He kept us posted his witty sense of humor during this stressful situation. We felt like we were stuck at the airport for for 7 hours, at least there was food :D

I'll post later when I'm more alert. Right now I have laundry to start and I'm heading to bed. Where my Room Steward? I need a bed turndown and my chocolate :o

She was there about ten minutes ago and I suspect that, since conditions have worsened, she's still there...
